How to use the Crypto Converter
Type an amount, for example 0.25.
Choose From and To: any coin or fiat currency. Press ⇄ to swap them.
Read the result, plus the rate in both directions and the satoshi or gwei amount where it applies.
Use the tables for common amounts, or the rate card to compare coins in your currency and press Convert on any row.
Refresh or override: press Refresh prices for the latest rates, or enter your own rate to match an exchange quote.
How crypto conversion works
Every conversion is a ratio of two prices in a common currency:
result = amount × price(From) ÷ price(To)
For a coin, the price is its current market price in US dollars. For a fiat currency, the converter derives its dollar value from Bitcoin's price in both currencies. For example, if 1 BTC = $60,000 and 1 BTC = €55,000, then €1 = 60,000 ÷ 55,000 = $1.0909. That keeps every pair consistent: converting BTC → ETH → USD gives the same answer as BTC → USD directly.
Worked example: with ETH at $3,000 and SOL at $150, 2.5 ETH = 2.5 × 3,000 ÷ 150 = 50 SOL.

Tips for accurate conversions
Stablecoins aren't exactly $1. USDT, USDC and DAI aim to hold $1 but usually trade a fraction of a cent above or below it.
Allow for the spread and fees. A mid-market rate is a reference point. What you actually receive after an exchange's spread and fees is usually lower.
Check the time. The status line shows how old the prices are. Crypto can move several percent in an hour, so refresh before you rely on a number.
Use the coin-to-coin rate for swaps. Converting BTC to ETH directly shows the cross rate you should expect from a swap, before fees.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the crypto prices come from?
Prices come from CoinGecko's free public API, which aggregates prices from hundreds of exchanges into a volume-weighted average. Your browser requests them directly; the page has no account, key or tracking. Prices refresh every 2 minutes while the page is open, and you can refresh by hand.
How do you convert one crypto to another, like BTC to ETH?
The converter divides the two coins' prices in the same currency. If 1 BTC is worth $60,000 and 1 ETH is worth $3,000, then 1 BTC = 60,000 ÷ 3,000 = 20 ETH. Fiat-to-fiat rates are worked out the same way, through Bitcoin's price in each currency.
How many satoshis are in a Bitcoin?
One Bitcoin is 100,000,000 satoshis (sats), so 1 sat = 0.00000001 BTC. When you convert to or from BTC, the converter also shows the amount in satoshis, which is handy for small payments.
What is gwei?
Gwei is a small unit of Ether: 1 ETH = 1,000,000,000 gwei (and 1 gwei = 1,000,000,000 wei). Ethereum gas fees are usually quoted in gwei.
Why is the price on my exchange different?
This tool shows an aggregated mid-market price. Exchanges quote a slightly higher buy price and lower sell price (the spread) and add trading fees, and prices move second by second. To check an exchange's quote, enter its rate under Use your own rate.
What happens if live prices can't load?
If the API is offline or rate-limited, the converter falls back to the last prices saved in your browser and shows when they're from. With no saved prices, you can type your own rate and keep converting.
Is this financial advice?
No. The converter is an informational tool. Cryptocurrency prices are volatile, and you should check the actual quote on your exchange before buying or selling.
