How to use the Forex Profit Calculator
Choose the currency pair and whether you bought or sold.
Enter the trade size in lots or units.
Type the entry and exit prices.
Pick your account currency and, if needed, the quote-to-account exchange rate.
Add commission and swap to see the net result, then check the table for other exit prices.
Forex profit formula
Pips = (exit − entry) ÷ pip size for a buy; (entry − exit) ÷ pip size for a sell. Pip size is 0.0001, or 0.01 for JPY pairs.
Profit in the quote currency = (exit − entry) × units × direction (+1 buy, −1 sell).
Account in the base currency: divide by the exit price. Third currency: multiply by the quote-to-account rate.
Net profit = gross profit − commission ± swap.
Example: sell 3 mini lots of USD/JPY from 150.25 to 149.40 with a USD account. Pips = (150.25 − 149.40) ÷ 0.01 = 85. Profit = 0.85 × 30,000 = 25,500 JPY, ÷ 149.40 = $170.68.

Tips for accurate results
Use the actual fill prices from your trade history: buys open at the ask and close at the bid, so the spread is already included.
Commission is often quoted per side; enter the round-turn amount (open + close) per standard lot.
Track results in pips as well as money to compare trades of different sizes fairly.
Frequently asked questions
How do you calculate forex profit?
Profit in the quote currency = (exit price − entry price) × units for a buy, or (entry − exit) × units for a sell. Then convert to your account currency: no change if the account is in the quote currency, divide by the exit price if it is in the base currency, or multiply by the quote-to-account rate for any other currency.
How many pips did my trade make?
Pips = price difference ÷ pip size. The pip size is 0.0001 for most pairs and 0.01 for JPY-quoted pairs. A EUR/USD buy from 1.0850 to 1.0925 gains 0.0075 ÷ 0.0001 = 75 pips.
How much is 75 pips on one standard lot of EUR/USD?
For a USD account one pip on a standard lot of EUR/USD is worth $10, so 75 pips is $750 before costs. A mini lot would make $75 and a micro lot $7.50.
Why does my broker's profit differ slightly?
Brokers convert profit at their live rate when the trade closes, may charge commission and swap, and close at the bid or ask price including the spread. Enter the exact fill prices and costs from your trade history for the closest match.
What is swap or rollover?
Swap is the overnight financing charged or paid for holding a position past the daily rollover time. It depends on the interest rate difference between the two currencies and your broker's markup, and it can be positive or negative.
Does leverage change my profit?
No. Profit depends on the position size and the price move. Leverage only decides how much margin is needed to open that position, so it changes the return on margin, not the profit in money.
