A target drifts around the board in smooth, unpredictable curves. Keep your mouse pointer or fingertip on it for 30 seconds. The test measures how much of the time you stayed on target and how far you strayed on average.

How to use the Hand-Eye Coordination Test
Choose a difficulty and round length. Medium and 30 seconds is the standard test.
Press Start test and place your pointer or finger on the target during the 3-2-1 countdown.
Follow the target as it moves. It turns green while you are on it and orange when you slip off.
Keep going until the timer ends. On touch screens keep your finger down; lifting it counts as off target.
Read your score: % time on target, average distance, longest streak and the accuracy chart.
How the tracking score works
This is a pursuit tracking task, a classic way to study eye-hand control: the target moves continuously and you must keep correcting your hand movement to follow it. About 60 times per second the test computes the distance d between your pointer and the target centre with the Pythagorean formula d = √((xp − xt)² + (yp − yt)²).
Time on target = time with d ≤ target radius ÷ round length × 100%.
Average distance = time-weighted mean of d over the round. Dividing it by the radius tells you how many target sizes away you were on average; below 1.0 means you were mostly inside the circle.
Longest streak = the longest unbroken stretch inside the circle.

On narrow screens the radius shrinks slightly (to no less than 78% of the value above) so the target keeps the same size relative to the board. The path is the sum of three sine waves per axis with random frequencies and phases, so it is smooth but different every round.
Tips for a higher score
Watch the target, not your pointer. Your hand follows your gaze.
Use small, relaxed wrist movements and rest your forearm on the desk.
If you constantly overshoot, lower your mouse sensitivity; if you run out of mouse pad, raise it.
Anticipate the curve: the target slows down before it turns, so ease off as it decelerates.
Compare rounds on the same device and level only. A phone and a mouse give very different numbers.
Frequently asked questions
What does this hand-eye coordination test measure?
It is a pursuit tracking task: your eyes follow a moving object while your hand steers the pointer to stay on it. The main score is the percentage of time your pointer was inside the target circle. The average distance between pointer and target centre shows how close you stayed even when you were off.
How is the score calculated?
On every animation frame (about 60 times a second) the test measures the distance from your pointer to the centre of the target. Time on target is the total time that distance was no larger than the target radius, divided by the round length. Average distance is the time-weighted mean of all those distances. If your pointer leaves the board or your finger is lifted, that time counts as off target.
What is a good score?
There is no official standard for this exact test, because results depend on difficulty, screen size and input device. As a rough guide in this game, on Medium above 80% time on target is very good and above 90% is excellent. Compare your own results over time on the same device for a fair picture.
Is a mouse or a touch screen better?
Most people track more precisely with a mouse or a pen, because the fingertip hides the target and the screen is smaller. Trackpads usually score lowest. Results from different devices are not directly comparable, so personal bests are best kept per device.
Can I improve my hand-eye coordination?
Tracking skill usually improves with practice, as with most motor tasks. Short regular sessions, good posture, a comfortable mouse sensitivity and a well-lit screen help. Video games, ball sports and musical instruments also practise eye-hand control.
Is this a medical test?
No. It is a game-style measure of one kind of coordination on one device. It cannot diagnose any condition. If you notice a sudden change in your coordination, vision or movement, talk to a doctor.
Why does the target move unpredictably?
The path is made of several smooth waves with random speeds and phases, so it never repeats in an obvious pattern. That stops you from learning the route and keeps the test about reacting to what you see.
