Open one MP3 or a whole album, then fix the title, artist, album, year, genre, track number, lyrics and cover art. The audio is never re-encoded: only the ID3 tag is rewritten, right in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.

How to use the MP3 Tag Editor
Open your MP3 files by dropping them on the box or clicking to browse. You can open one song or a whole album.
Edit the fields: title, artist, album, year, track, genre and more. Open More fields for composer, comment and lyrics.
Set the cover art: click Choose image, drop a picture on the cover box or paste one with Ctrl+V. Remove deletes the current art.
For an album, fill in one song, tick the fields to copy and press Apply to all files. Number tracks sets 1, 2, 3… in list order.
Press Download tagged MP3, or Download all as ZIP for several files.
Which ID3 frame stores which field
MP3 files keep their song information in an ID3 tag, a block of "frames" placed in front of the audio. This editor reads every common version and saves ID3v2.3, the version with the widest device support.

ID3v2.3 frame

Other frames already in the file, such as ReplayGain values, ratings, URLs, publisher or custom TXXX fields, are kept. Frames that exist only in ID3v2.4 (for example TDRC recording time or TSOP sort order) are converted where possible or left out, because ID3v2.3 readers would ignore them anyway.
ID3v1 vs ID3v2
ID3v1 is a fixed 128-byte block at the end of the file: title, artist and album are limited to 30 characters, the year to 4, there is no cover art, and only Latin-1 characters fit. Only very old players need it.
ID3v2 sits at the start of the file, has no practical length limits, supports any language through UTF-16 text, and can hold pictures and lyrics. All modern software uses it.
Album art tips
Square images look best: 500 × 500 to 1000 × 1000 pixels is plenty for phones, car screens and music apps.
JPEG keeps photos small; PNG is better for flat artwork with text. Large or WebP images are converted to JPEG automatically.
Every MP3 carries its own copy of the cover, so a 1 MB image adds 1 MB to each song in the album.
Use Save cover image to extract the existing artwork from an MP3.
Frequently asked questions
Does editing tags change the audio quality?
No. MP3 tags (ID3) are stored in a separate block at the start of the file, and the tool only rewrites that block. The audio frames are copied byte for byte, so the sound is identical to the original.
Which tag version is saved?
The tool writes ID3v2.3, the version understood by the widest range of players and devices, including Windows File Explorer, iTunes and Apple Music, Android and car stereos. Text with characters outside Western European (Latin-1) is saved as UTF-16 so names in any language display correctly. Optionally an ID3v1 tag is added at the end for very old players.
How do I add album art to an MP3?
Open the MP3, click Choose image under the cover (or drop or paste an image) and press Download tagged MP3. The picture is stored as the front cover (APIC frame). JPG and PNG are kept as they are; other formats and very large pictures are converted to a 1000 × 1000 pixel-max JPEG so the file stays small.
Can I edit tags of many MP3 files at once?
Yes. Open several files together. Edit one, tick the fields you want to share, such as album, album artist, year, genre and cover, and press Apply to all files. Then use Download all as ZIP to save every tagged file at once.
Why don't my changes show up in my music app?
Many apps cache song information. Re-import the new file, or remove the old one from the library first. On Windows, File Explorer reads ID3v2.3 tags, which this tool writes, but may need a refresh (F5).
Can I remove all tags from an MP3?
Yes. Press Remove all tags to get a clean copy with no ID3v1 or ID3v2 data, for example to strip personal comments or embedded images before sharing.
Are my files uploaded?
No. The MP3s are read and rewritten entirely in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.
