Turn any song into 8D audio: the music slowly orbits your head, with room reverb for depth. Adjust the rotation, reverb, speed and bass while you listen, then download the result as MP3 or WAV. Put on headphones for the full effect.

How to use the 8D Audio Converter
Add a song: drop an MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG or FLAC file, or press Try a demo sound.
Put on headphones and press Play to hear the 8D preview.
Pick a preset or adjust rotation time, intensity, reverb, room size, speed and bass while listening.
Choose MP3 or WAV and press Convert to 8D. The whole song is rendered in a few seconds.
Download the converted file and listen on any device with headphones.
How 8D audio works
Your brain locates a sound from tiny differences between what your two ears hear: the interaural time difference (sound reaches the nearer ear up to about 0.7 ms earlier), the interaural level difference (the head shadows high frequencies on the far side) and the way your outer ear colours sound arriving from the front, back, above or below. A head-related transfer function (HRTF) is a set of filters measured from real heads that reproduces all three cues.
This converter places the song at a virtual point one metre from your head and moves it around a circle: at time t the position is x = sin(2π·t ÷ T), z = −cos(2π·t ÷ T), where T is the rotation time you choose. The browser's HRTF panner turns that position into a binaural stereo signal. A convolution reverb (a decaying, slightly darkening noise impulse whose length is the room size) adds the sense of space that makes the movement feel natural.

What it does
Good range
Full circle every
Time for one orbit around your head. Shorter is dizzier.
6–10 s (classic), 3 s (fast), 12–20 s (calm)
8D intensity
Blend between the moving sound and a centred copy. 100% is fully 8D.
70–100%
Reverb
How much room sound is mixed in.
20–35% (classic), 50–65% (slowed + reverb)
Room size
Reverb decay time (RT60): how long the echo takes to fade by 60 dB.
1.5–3 s; 4–6 s for a hall
Speed
Plays faster or slower; pitch follows (semitones = 12 × log₂ speed).
0.8–0.9× for slowed, 1.1–1.25× for sped up
Bass boost
Low-shelf boost below about 130 Hz to keep the low end full while the song moves.
0–5 dB
Up & down movement
Adds slow vertical motion on top of the circle.
0–40%
The finished file is rendered at the original sample rate (or 44.1 kHz), then normalized so its loudest peak sits at −1 dBFS to avoid clipping. 8D audio is a stereo file, so it plays on any phone or computer, but the 3D effect only works on headphones or earbuds.
Frequently asked questions
What is 8D audio?
8D audio is a stereo mix in which the music seems to travel in a circle around the listener's head, usually with added reverb. The name is a marketing term: there are not eight dimensions. The effect comes from binaural panning, which imitates how sound reaches the left and right ear from different directions.
Do I need headphones?
Yes, for the real effect. Binaural (HRTF) panning relies on each ear receiving its own signal. On speakers the music still moves from side to side, but the feeling of sound behind and around you mostly disappears.
How does this converter create the effect?
It feeds the song through a Web Audio PannerNode using the HRTF model and moves the virtual source in a circle around the listener, driven by low-frequency oscillators. The panned sound is mixed with a convolution reverb that uses a generated room impulse response, then rendered offline at full quality and peak-normalized to −1 dBFS.
What settings give the classic 8D sound?
A full circle every 6 to 10 seconds, 100% intensity, about 25 to 35% reverb with a 2 to 3 second room and a slight bass boost. For the popular slowed + reverb style, set speed to about 0.85× and reverb to 50% or more with a larger room.
Does the speed control change the pitch?
Yes. Like the slowed and nightcore edits, it plays the audio slower or faster as a turntable would, so 0.85× sounds about 2.8 semitones lower and 1.25× about 3.9 semitones higher. Use the Audio Pitch Changer if you need speed without pitch change.
Is my song uploaded?
No. Decoding, 8D processing and MP3 or WAV encoding all run in your browser. The file never leaves your device.
Can I share 8D versions of songs?
You can convert any file you have, but publishing an edited version of a copyrighted song usually needs permission from the rights holder. Use your own music, royalty-free tracks or keep conversions for personal listening.
