Image Combiner
Join two or more pictures into one image: side by side, stacked vertically or in a grid, with spacing, a background color and automatic same-height scaling. Images are combined in your browser and never uploaded.

LayoutHow to use the Image Combiner
- Add images: drop several pictures on the box, press Add images or paste them one by one with Ctrl+V.
- Choose a layout: Horizontal for side by side, Vertical to stack, or Grid with a number of columns.
- Set the size: Same height is best for side by side, Same width for stacking.
- Adjust spacing, margin, background and alignment, and drag the list to change the order.
- Press Combine images, then Download PNG or JPG.
Which layout and size option to use
| Goal | Layout | Size | Tip |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two photos side by side | Horizontal | Same height (smallest) | Spacing 0 for a seamless join |
| Before and after comparison | Horizontal | Same height | 10–20 px white spacing as a divider |
| Long chat or web page screenshots | Vertical | Same width (smallest) | Spacing 0 to make one scrolling capture |
| Product sheet or mood board | Grid, 2–4 columns | Same width or height | Add an outer margin and a soft background |
| Comic strip or storyboard | Horizontal or Grid | Same height | Dark background with 8 px spacing |
How the output size is calculated
With Same height, every picture is scaled to a common height H and its width becomes width × H ÷ height, so nothing is stretched. For a horizontal layout, the total width is the sum of those widths plus spacing × (number of images − 1) plus twice the outer margin.
Example: a 640 × 420 photo and a 200 × 150 picture with Same height (smallest) and 10 px spacing. The common height is 150 px, the photo becomes 640 × 150 ÷ 420 ≈ 229 px wide, and the result is 229 + 10 + 200 = 439 × 150 px. With Keep original sizes, it would be 640 + 10 + 200 = 850 × 420 px, and the smaller image is aligned top, center or bottom.
In a grid, each column is as wide as its widest image and each row as tall as its tallest image, so mixed shapes are centered in their cells.
Tips for a clean result
- Choose the smallest size option to avoid enlarging pictures, which makes them blurry.
- Crop pictures to the same aspect ratio first with the Image Cropper for a perfectly even grid.
- Use PNG for screenshots and text, JPG for photos when a smaller file matters.
- For framed layouts with many cells and templates, try the Collage Maker; to add a frame around the final image, use Add Border to Image.
Frequently asked questions
How do I put two pictures side by side?
Add both images, keep the layout on Horizontal and choose Same height (smallest) so neither picture is enlarged. Set the spacing to 0 for a seamless join or add a few pixels with a white background for a clean divider, then download.
How do I stack images vertically, for example screenshots?
Choose the Vertical layout and set the size to Same width. Long chat or web page screenshots then join into one tall image with the same width. Spacing adds a gap between them.
Will the combined image lose quality?
Images are drawn at their original pixel size unless you choose a same-height or same-width option. Choosing the smallest size only shrinks the larger pictures, which keeps them sharp; choosing the largest enlarges the smaller ones, which can look softer. PNG output is lossless.
Is there a maximum output size?
Browsers limit canvas size, so if the result would be larger than 16,384 pixels on a side or about 100 megapixels, the whole image is scaled down to fit and a note shows the final size.
Can I make a transparent background?
Yes. Tick Transparent background and download as PNG. The spacing and margins then stay see-through. JPG does not support transparency, so it uses the background color instead.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. All images are drawn together on a canvas in your browser, and the result is saved straight to your device.
