Convert any image to JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, BMP, GIF or ICO in seconds. Drop in one picture or a whole batch, pick the output format and quality, then download each file or everything as a ZIP. Conversion happens on your device, so your photos are never uploaded.
Files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
Lower = smaller file. 80–90% is ideal for photos.
JPG and BMP have no transparency.
Images are never enlarged.
Icon sizes (px)
All sizes go into one .ico file.
GIF palette
GIF stores up to 256 colors; an optimized palette is built for each image.

How to use the Image Converter
Add your images by dropping them into the box, clicking to choose files, or pasting an image with Ctrl+V.
Pick the output format: JPG for photos, PNG for graphics and transparency, WEBP for small web images, ICO for icons.
Adjust the options: set the quality, a background color for transparent areas, or an optional resize.
Press Convert images. Each card shows the new size and how much smaller or larger the file became.
Download files one by one or click Download all as ZIP.

How the conversion works
Your browser decodes the original picture, draws it onto an invisible canvas and saves it again in the format you pick. JPG, PNG, WEBP and AVIF are encoded by the browser's own built-in encoders. BMP, GIF and ICO files are written by the tool itself:
BMP is stored as an uncompressed 24-bit bitmap, so its size is about width × height × 3 bytes. A 1920 × 1080 image is roughly 6 MB.
GIF uses a palette of at most 256 colors. The tool builds an optimized palette for every image with the median cut method and, if you leave dithering on, spreads the rounding error to neighbouring pixels (Floyd–Steinberg) so gradients look smooth instead of banded.
ICO files hold several square PNG images, one per size you tick. Browsers and Windows pick the size that fits best.
Tips for smaller and better files
For photos on the web, WEBP at 75–85% quality is usually the best balance of size and sharpness.
Converting a JPG to PNG does not bring back detail that JPG compression removed; it only stops further loss.
Resizing has the biggest effect on file size: halving the width and height leaves a quarter of the pixels.
To hit an exact file size such as 100 KB, use the Image Compressor. To change only the dimensions, use the Image Resizer.
Frequently asked questions
Which image formats can I convert?
You can open JPG, PNG, WEBP, AVIF, GIF, BMP, ICO and SVG files in any modern browser, plus HEIC and HEIF photos from iPhones. You can save as JPG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, GIF and ICO in every browser. AVIF output is offered only when your browser has a built-in AVIF encoder; otherwise the option is shown as unavailable.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The images are decoded and re-encoded by your own browser using the canvas API. The files never leave your device, which keeps them private and makes conversion fast even for large batches.
What happens to transparency when I convert to JPG or BMP?
JPG and the 24-bit BMP files this tool creates cannot store transparency, so transparent pixels are filled with the background color you choose (white by default). PNG, WEBP, AVIF and ICO keep full transparency, and GIF keeps on/off transparency for pixels that are mostly transparent.
What quality setting should I use?
For JPG and WEBP, 80 to 90 percent keeps photos looking the same as the original while cutting the file size a lot. Go lower for thumbnails, and use 95 to 100 percent only when you plan to edit the image again. PNG, BMP, GIF and ICO ignore the quality setting because they are lossless or palette based.
Can I convert an animated GIF?
The browser gives access to the first frame of an animated GIF, so the converter saves that frame as a still image. To keep the animation, keep the original GIF file.
How do I make an ICO file for a favicon?
Choose ICO as the output format and tick the sizes you need. A favicon usually contains 16, 32 and 48 pixel versions, and a 256 pixel version is used by Windows for large icons. Non-square images are centered on a transparent square so they are not stretched.
Why is my converted file bigger than the original?
Lossless formats such as PNG and BMP store every pixel exactly, so turning a compressed JPG photo into PNG or BMP usually makes it larger. To make files smaller, convert to WEBP or JPG with a quality around 80 percent, or reduce the size with the resize option.
