RAW to JPG
Turn camera RAW files from Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus, Panasonic, Pentax and DNG cameras into JPG photos you can share anywhere. Drop a whole card's worth of files, get full-size, correctly rotated JPGs and download them in one ZIP. Everything runs on your device.

How it works: every RAW file contains a full-color JPG rendered by the camera. This tool finds the largest one, fixes the rotation and saves it as a normal JPG. The sensor data itself is not re-developed, so the look matches the camera's own JPG settings.
How to use the RAW to JPG
- Add RAW files by dropping them into the box or pressing Choose RAW files. Many files at once are fine.
- Choose the output: a re-encoded JPG with quality and size options, or the original embedded JPG for zero quality loss.
- Wait a moment while each file is scanned. Cards show the camera, resolution and JPG size.
- Download single JPGs or press Download all as ZIP.
RAW file extensions by camera brand
| Extension | Brand | Container | Where the JPG preview lives |
|---|---|---|---|
| CR2 | Canon (2004–2018 models) | TIFF-based | First image directory, usually full size |
| CR3 | Canon (EOS R, M50 and newer) | ISO media (like MP4) | Full-size JPG track plus a 1620 × 1080 preview |
| NEF / NRW | Nikon | TIFF-based | Sub-image directory, usually full size |
| ARW / SR2 / SRF | Sony | TIFF-based | Preview image, size varies by model |
| DNG | Adobe standard (Leica, Pentax, Ricoh, Hasselblad, phones) | TIFF-based | Preview sub-image, size depends on the creator |
| RAF | Fujifilm | Fujifilm header | JPG block near the start, with its own EXIF |
| ORF | Olympus / OM System | TIFF variant | Maker notes, usually full size |
| RW2 / RWL | Panasonic / Leica | TIFF variant | Embedded JpgFromRaw image |
| PEF | Pentax | TIFF-based | Preview image, usually full size |
RAW vs JPG: what changes when you convert
A RAW file stores the unprocessed readings of the camera sensor, typically 12 or 14 bits per pixel, plus metadata and at least one JPG preview rendered in camera. A JPG is 8 bits per channel and already "developed": white balance, contrast, sharpening and noise reduction are baked in. That is why a 25 MB RAW often becomes a 4 to 10 MB JPG that opens on every phone, website and printer.
This converter uses the camera's own rendered JPG, so colors match what you saw on the camera screen. If a photo needs heavy editing, such as recovering blown highlights or fixing white balance, edit the RAW in a RAW developer first and export from there; for everyday sharing, the embedded JPG is usually all you need.
Tips
- For email or social media, choose Max 2048 px or Max 1080 px; the files become much smaller with no visible loss on screens.
- Choose Original embedded JPG to keep the camera's exact JPG, which is lossless and the fastest option for large batches.
- Shooting RAW + JPG already? You can keep only the RAW files and extract JPGs whenever you need them.
- Want to check exposure settings or remove location data afterwards? Try the Image Metadata Viewer and EXIF Remover.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert RAW photos to JPG for free?
Drop the RAW files into the converter above. For each file it finds the full-size JPG that the camera embedded when it took the picture, rotates it correctly and saves it as a standard JPG. Download them one by one or all at once as a ZIP. No sign-up and no watermark.
Which cameras and RAW formats are supported?
Canon CR2 and CR3, Nikon NEF and NRW, Sony ARW, SR2 and SRF, Adobe DNG, Fujifilm RAF, Olympus and OM System ORF, Panasonic and Leica RW2 and RWL, Pentax PEF, Samsung SRW and most other formats that store a JPG preview. Nearly every interchangeable-lens camera does this so its rear screen can show photos quickly.
Does the JPG look the same as the camera's own JPG?
Yes, it is very close. The embedded preview is rendered by the camera with the picture style, white balance and lens corrections set at the time of shooting. That also means this tool does not re-develop the RAW sensor data: to change exposure or white balance with full RAW latitude, use a RAW editor such as darktable, RawTherapee or your camera maker's software.
Is the JPG full resolution?
For most cameras the embedded JPG is full or nearly full resolution. Some models store a smaller one; for example many Sony ARW files hold a preview of roughly 1616 × 1080 or similar. Each card shows the exact size, and the tool warns when only a small preview exists.
What is the difference between the two output modes?
JPG, auto-rotated decodes the preview, rotates it upright and saves a new JPG with your quality and size settings. Original embedded JPG saves the camera's JPG bytes unchanged (only an orientation tag is added if needed), which is lossless and fastest; quality and size settings are not used.
Why does my DNG show an error?
DNG files from some phones, scanners and converters contain only a tiny thumbnail or no JPG at all, because they expect the software to develop the RAW data. For those files use a desktop RAW developer. DNGs from cameras and Adobe converters with a full-size preview work normally.
Are my RAW files uploaded?
No. The files are read by JavaScript in your browser and never sent anywhere, so even large batches convert quickly and privately.
