How to use the VCF to CSV Converter

  1. Export your contacts as .vcf (iPhone: Contacts app or iCloud.com > Export vCard; Android: Contacts > Export; Outlook/Google: Export as vCard).
  2. Drop the .vcf file on the upload area. Several files can be combined.
  3. Choose the CSV format: Google Contacts, Outlook, or All fields for Excel.
  4. Check the preview and click Download CSV.
  5. Need the opposite? Open the CSV → VCF tab, drop a CSV and download a .vcf you can import on any phone.

Importing the CSV

  • Google Contacts: contacts.google.com > Import > select the CSV made with the Google Contacts format.
  • Outlook (desktop): File > Open & Export > Import/Export > Import from another program or file > Comma Separated Values, then choose the Contacts folder.
  • Outlook.com: People > Manage contacts > Import contacts.
  • Excel: any format works; All fields keeps every value in a clearly named column. For a styled workbook, run the CSV through CSV to Excel.

The vCard format is defined by RFC 2426 (version 3.0) and RFC 6350 (version 4.0); version 2.1 is the older Internet Mail Consortium specification still used by many phones.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert a VCF file to CSV?

Drop the .vcf file on this page. Every contact is read and shown in a table; choose the Google Contacts, Outlook or All fields column layout and click Download CSV. Open the CSV in Excel or import it into your email or CRM.

Which vCard versions are supported?

vCard 2.1 (older Android and Nokia phones, Outlook), 3.0 (iPhone, iCloud, Google) and 4.0 (RFC 6350). Folded lines, quoted-printable encoding, character sets, escaped commas and semicolons, and grouped Apple labels are all handled.

What happens to contacts with several phone numbers or emails?

None are lost. The Google and All fields formats add as many Phone and E-mail columns as the contact with the most numbers needs. The Outlook format fills Outlook's fixed slots (Mobile, Business, Home, Other …) and puts any extras into Notes.

Are contact photos included?

No. Photos are stored as embedded image data that a CSV cannot hold, so they are skipped. All text fields are converted.

Why do accented names look wrong when I open the CSV in Excel?

Keep 'Add UTF-8 BOM' ticked. The BOM is an invisible marker that tells Excel the file is UTF-8, so names like Jürgen or María display correctly.

How do I convert a CSV to VCF?

Switch to the CSV → VCF tab and drop or paste your CSV. Columns such as First Name, Last Name, Email, Mobile Phone, Company and the Google or Outlook export headers are matched automatically, and the list shows which columns were used. Choose vCard 3.0 for the widest compatibility and click Download VCF.

Is it safe to convert my contacts here?

Yes. The file is read and converted entirely in your browser with JavaScript. No contact data is uploaded or stored.
