How to use the Cold Email Generator

  1. Enter the prospect: first name, company, role and one specific, true personal hook.
  2. Describe the problem, its cost and what you do, plus a real result as proof.
  3. Choose a call to action and a tone, and fill in your own name and company.
  4. Compare the AIDA, PAS and short versions, checking word counts and spam-word warnings.
  5. Click a subject line to copy it, copy the email you like, and edit it before sending.

AIDA vs PAS: which cold email framework to use

FrameworkStructureWorks best when
AIDAAttention → Interest → Desire → ActionYou have a strong personal hook or trigger event, such as a new office, a funding round or a job opening
PASProblem → Agitate → SolutionThe pain is specific and costly, and the prospect probably already feels it
Short & directHook → Offer → AskBusy senior decision-makers, or a second touch after a call or event
Follow-upReminder → New value → Easy askNo reply after 3 to 4 business days

Cold email checklist

  • Personalize the first line with something true and specific. A generic compliment is easy to spot.
  • Talk about their problem before your product. "You" should appear more often than "we".
  • Use one proof point: a real customer result with a number. Never invent clients or statistics.
  • Ask for one small thing. A 15-minute call or a yes/no reply is easier to say yes to than a long demo.
  • Keep formatting plain. No images, few links and no attachments in the first email.
  • Follow the rules. Include your real name, company, postal address and an easy way to opt out, as required by the CAN-SPAM Act for commercial email in the US.

Frequently asked questions

What is the AIDA framework for cold emails?

AIDA stands for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. The email opens with something that grabs attention (a personal observation or a question), builds interest by naming a problem the prospect recognizes, creates desire by showing what you do and a result you achieved, and ends with one clear action to take.

What is the PAS framework?

PAS stands for Problem, Agitate, Solution. You name the prospect's problem, describe what it costs them so it feels real (agitate), then present your solution and a call to action. PAS works well when the pain is clear and specific.

How long should a cold email be?

Most sales teams aim for roughly 50 to 125 words in the body: short enough to read on a phone in under 30 seconds. The generator counts body words excluding the greeting and signature and flags emails that run long.

How long should a cold email subject line be?

Short subject lines of about 2 to 7 words or under roughly 45 characters are less likely to be cut off on phones. Plain, specific subject lines that look like a normal work email usually perform better than salesy ones in capitals.

When should I send a follow-up email?

A common rhythm is a first follow-up 3 to 4 business days after the first email and one or two more spaced a week apart. Keep follow-ups shorter than the original, add one new piece of value, and stop if the person asks you to.

What are spam-trigger words?

Words and phrases such as free, guaranteed, act now, risk-free or click here are often associated with promotional mass email. Using them does not guarantee a spam folder, but cold emails that sound like ads get filtered and ignored more often, so the tool flags them.

Is it legal to send cold emails?

In the United States, commercial email is covered by the CAN-SPAM Act, which requires accurate sender details and subject lines, a physical postal address and a clear way to opt out, honored promptly. Other countries have stricter consent rules, so check the laws that apply to your recipients.
