From keyword list to content plan
- Remove phrases that make no sense for your topic. Patterns are generic, so a few combinations will read oddly for some seeds.
- Check real demand. Type the best candidates into a search engine and watch the autocomplete, or run them through a suggestion tool. If a phrase never appears, people probably do not search it.
- Look at the results page. If the top results are shops, a blog post will struggle; if they are guides, a product page will.
- Group close variants. Cluster phrases with the same intent onto one page and use the variants in headings, image alt text and FAQs.
- Use the phrase where it counts: the title tag, H1, first paragraph and URL, written naturally for people.
Frequently asked questions
What is a long-tail keyword?
A long-tail keyword is a longer, more specific search phrase, usually three or more words, such as best trail running shoes for women instead of running shoes. Each one is searched less often than the short head term, but together they make up a large share of searches, and they are usually easier to rank for and closer to a decision.
Why target long-tail keywords?
Specific phrases tend to have less competition, clearer intent and higher conversion rates. Someone searching cheap standing desk for small spaces knows what they want, so a page that answers exactly that has a good chance of ranking and converting.
Does this tool show search volume?
No. It builds keyword ideas from modifier patterns and does not have access to search volume data. Use it to brainstorm a complete list, then check the most promising phrases in an autocomplete tool or a keyword planner before deciding which pages to write.
What is search intent?
Search intent is the reason behind a search. Informational searches want an answer (how to choose running shoes), commercial searches compare options (best running shoes 2026, vs, reviews), transactional searches are ready to buy (buy running shoes online) and local searches want a nearby place (running shoes near me). Match the type of page to the intent.
How do I use the for X modifier?
List the people, problems or uses your product fits, one per line, such as beginners, flat feet or small apartments. The tool turns each into keywords like running shoes for beginners and best running shoes for flat feet, which often make excellent page or section topics.
Should I put the year in my keywords?
Many people add the year to commercial searches (best laptops 2026) because they want current information. Year keywords suit regularly updated reviews and roundups; update the page and its title each year, otherwise the phrase quickly becomes outdated.
Can I create one page for every keyword?
Usually not. Close variants with the same intent, such as cheap running shoes and affordable running shoes, belong on the same page. Create separate pages only when the intent or the answer is genuinely different.
