Hours From Now Calculator
Find the exact clock time, date and weekday a number of hours and minutes from now, or from any date and time you choose. Switch to “ago” to see what time it was hours earlier.

Decimals work: 1.5 = 1 h 30 min. Negative counts back.
How to use the Hours From Now Calculator
- Leave “Now” selected to count from the current time, or choose a date and time to start from.
- Enter the hours and, if needed, minutes. Decimals and negative numbers are accepted.
- Pick the direction: later (from now) or earlier (ago).
- Read the result: the time, date and whether it falls on the next day or later.
- Check the table for other common offsets, and copy the results or download the CSV.
How to calculate a time hours from now
Write the start time in 24-hour form, add the hours and minutes, then wrap past midnight: result = (start + amount) mod 24 h, and every full 24 hours you remove is one day later. For 9:45 PM + 3 h 30 min: 21:45 + 3:30 = 25:15, minus 24:00 = 01:15 (1:15 AM) the next day. Counting back works the same way: 2:00 AM − 5 h = −3:00, plus 24:00 = 21:00 (9:00 PM) the previous day.
Minutes carry into hours the usual way: 60 minutes = 1 hour, so 10:50 + 25 min = 11:15. Decimal hours convert by multiplying the fraction by 60 (0.75 h = 45 min).

Tips and edge cases
- Daylight saving time: on the spring-forward night one clock hour is skipped, so 24 hours after 9:00 AM Saturday is 10:00 AM Sunday. In autumn it is 8:00 AM. The calculator counts real elapsed hours and notes when this happens.
- Midnight and noon: 12:00 AM is midnight at the start of a day and 12:00 PM is noon. In 24-hour time they are 00:00 and 12:00.
- Cooking, parking or shift reminders: use the result as a clock reference only and set an alarm; this page does not keep running in the background.
- Large spans: 168 hours is exactly one week, and 720 hours is 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
What time will it be in 8 hours?
Add 8 hours to the current time. If the result goes past 12 midnight, it is the next day: 7:00 PM plus 8 hours is 3:00 AM tomorrow. The calculator does this from your device's clock when the page loads.
How do I add hours to a time?
Add the hours to the hour of the clock time and keep the minutes. If the total is 24 or more, subtract 24 and move to the next day. For example 21:45 + 3 h 30 min = 25:15, which is 01:15 the next day.
What time was it 5 hours ago?
Choose “Ago / earlier” and enter 5 hours. The calculator subtracts 5 hours from the current time and shows the previous day if you go back past midnight.
How many hours from now is tomorrow at the same time?
Exactly 24 hours, except on the nights when daylight saving time starts or ends, when the same clock time tomorrow is 23 or 25 hours away. This calculator always adds real elapsed hours, so the clock result can differ by one hour on those dates.
Can I enter hours with decimals?
Yes. 1.5 hours is 1 hour 30 minutes, 2.25 hours is 2 hours 15 minutes and 0.1 hours is 6 minutes. You can also combine hours and minutes, for example 3 hours and 45 minutes.
What is 48 hours from now?
Two days later at the same clock time, for example 48 hours from Monday 10:00 AM is Wednesday 10:00 AM, unless a daylight saving change happens in between.
Does it work for other time zones?
It uses your device's time zone. To find a time in another zone, first work out the result here, then convert it with a time zone converter.
