How to use the UGC Rate Calculator
Enter your deliverables: number of videos, your base rate per video and the video length.
Add extras such as alternative hooks for ad testing or still photos.
Choose the usage rights the brand wants: organic only, or paid ads for a set period.
Tick any add-ons (whitelisting, raw footage, exclusivity, rush) and adjust their percentages.
Read the total quote and the line items, then copy the summary or download the CSV for your proposal.
How the UGC quote is built
Price per video = base rate × length factor
Content fee = videos × price per video + extra hooks × hook price + photos × photo price
Usage rights = content fee × usage percentage (0% for organic only)
Exclusivity, rush = content fee × their percentages
Total = (content fee + all add-ons) × (1 − discount)
Example: 3 videos of 16–30 seconds at a $150 base rate cost $172.50 each, or $517.50. Two extra hooks at $40 bring the content fee to $597.50. Three months of paid usage (+50%) adds $298.75 and one month of whitelisting at 25% adds $149.38, for a total quote of about $1,045.63.

Tips for pricing UGC
Spell out the usage term in writing. State the channels (organic, paid social, website, TV) and the end date so there is no doubt about what the fee covers.
Price hooks separately. Brands testing ads often want several openings for one video; each is extra filming and editing time.
Offer packages, not just single videos. A small discount on a 3- or 5-video bundle can win repeat work while keeping your per-video rate intact.
Renew rights instead of selling forever. A time-limited license can be extended later, which often earns more than a one-time perpetual fee.
Frequently asked questions
What is UGC and how is it different from influencer marketing?
UGC (user-generated content) creators make photos and videos that brands post on their own accounts or run as ads. Unlike influencers, UGC creators are not paid for access to their audience, so pricing is based on the content itself, the work involved and how the brand will use it, not on follower count.
How much should a UGC creator charge per video?
There is no official rate. Many beginners start somewhere around $100 to $200 for a short organic video, and experienced creators with a strong portfolio often charge more. This calculator uses $150 as an editable default; set your own base rate from your experience, niche and past results.
What are UGC usage rights?
Usage rights define where and for how long a brand can use your content. Organic use on the brand's own social profiles is often included in the base fee, while paid advertising use is usually charged extra for a set term such as 30 days, 3 months or 12 months. Perpetual rights cost the most because the brand can use the content forever.
What is whitelisting and how is it priced?
Whitelisting (also called Spark Ads on TikTok or partnership ads on Instagram) lets a brand run ads through your account so they appear under your name. Because it uses your identity, it is commonly charged as a monthly fee, here a percentage of the content fee per month.
Should I charge extra for raw footage?
Yes, many creators do. Raw, unedited clips let the brand re-edit your content into many new ads, so a fee of roughly 25% to 50% of the video fee is a common approach. The calculator applies the raw footage percentage to the video fee only.
How is the total UGC quote calculated?
Content fee = videos × base rate × length factor + hooks + photos. Usage rights, whitelisting, exclusivity and rush fees are percentages of the content fee, raw footage is a percentage of the video fee, and an optional discount is taken off the subtotal.
Are these market rates?
No. The default numbers are adjustable starting points, not market data. Your real rates depend on your portfolio, niche, deliverable complexity, turnaround time and negotiation with each brand.
