How to use the Money Counter
Pick a currency preset (USD, EUR, GBP, INR, CAD, AUD) or choose Custom and list your own denominations.
Enter the quantity of each bill and coin. Press Enter or Tab to jump to the next row; you can type 20+15 to add stacks.
Read the totals: subtotal per row, bills total, coins total, grand total and piece count update as you type.
Optionally enter the expected amount (for example the register report) to see whether the cash is over or short.
Print the count sheet, copy the summary, or download a CSV for your records.
How cash counting works
A cash count multiplies the number of pieces of each denomination by its face value and adds the results:
Total = Σ (quantity × face value)
Example for a US register drawer:
Denomination
Quantity
Subtotal
$20 bills
12
$240.00
$10 bills
8
$80.00
$5 bills
10
$50.00
$1 bills

$27.00
Quarters (25¢)
40
$10.00
Dimes (10¢)
23
$2.30
Pennies (1¢)
18
$0.18
Total
138 pieces
$409.48
If the register report says $410.00, the drawer is short by $0.52. If you keep a $200 float for the next shift, the amount to deposit is $409.48 − $200 = $209.48.
Standard coin rolls and bill straps
Pre-wrapped rolls and straps make large counts faster. Type the quantity as a product, for example 3*40 for three rolls of quarters.

Tips for an accurate till count
Sort first, then count. Face all bills the same way and group by denomination before counting.
Count twice, ideally by two people, and sign the printed count sheet.
Remove the float (starting cash) and count it separately so the deposit amount is clear.
Investigate differences: a short drawer of exactly one bill's value often means a miscounted stack or a bill in the wrong slot.
Keep the sheet with the deposit slip for your records.
Frequently asked questions
How do I count a cash drawer quickly?
Sort the cash by denomination, count the pieces of each bill and coin, and type the quantities into the matching rows. The tool multiplies each quantity by its face value and adds everything up. Enter the amount the register report expects to see at once whether the drawer is over or short.
How is the total calculated?
Each subtotal is quantity × face value, and the grand total is the sum of all subtotals. For example 7 × $20 = $140 and 12 × $0.25 = $3.00, so together they make $143.00. The math is done in whole cents, so there are no rounding errors.
Can I count coins in rolls?
Yes: multiply the number of rolls by the coins per roll and type it as a sum, or just enter the coin count. Standard US rolls hold 50 pennies ($0.50), 40 nickels ($2), 50 dimes ($5) and 40 quarters ($10).
Which euro and rupee denominations are included?
The euro preset has €500 to €5 banknotes and coins from €2 down to 1 cent. The €500 note is no longer issued but remains legal tender. The Indian rupee preset has ₹2000 to ₹10 notes and ₹20, ₹10, ₹5, ₹2 and ₹1 coins; the ₹2000 note was withdrawn from circulation in 2023 but is included for counting older stock.
Can I add my own currency or denominations?
Yes. Choose Custom, set the currency symbol and list one denomination per line with its value, a label and whether it is a bill or coin. The rows update immediately and are remembered in your browser.
Can I print a cash count sheet?
Yes. Press Print count sheet to get a clean one-page sheet with every denomination, quantity and subtotal, the totals, the expected amount and over/short, plus fields for date, location, counted by and signatures. You can also save it as a PDF from the print dialog.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser. The last count is only stored in your browser's local storage so it is still there when you come back, and Clear all removes it.
