How stickers are placed
Each sticker is stored with its centre point, size, rotation, flip and opacity, and redrawn on top of your photo every time you change something, so nothing is merged until you download. Size is measured as a percentage of the photo's shorter side, which means a sticker keeps the same proportions if you swap the photo for one with a different resolution. When you download, the photo and every sticker are drawn once more at full resolution, from the bottom layer to the top.
Hiding something private? A sticker is merged into the downloaded pixels and can't be peeled off, but for documents and screenshots a solid black box from the Redact Image tool is the clearer choice.
Flip ↔ is useful for arrows and for making a character face the other way.
Frequently asked questions
Why do the emoji look different on my phone and my computer?
Emoji stickers are drawn with your device's own emoji font, such as Apple Color Emoji on iPhone and Mac, Segoe UI Emoji on Windows or Noto Color Emoji on Android. Each design is slightly different, but once you download, the emoji is part of the image and looks the same for everyone. The stickers in the Cute tab are drawn by the tool itself and look identical on every device.
How do I rotate or resize a sticker?
Click the sticker to select it. Drag the square handle at the corner to make it bigger or smaller, and drag the round orange handle above it to rotate. You can also use the Size and Rotation sliders, and hold Shift while rotating to snap to 15° steps.
How do I put a sticker behind another one?
Select it and press Backward or To back. Stickers added later are on top; Forward and To front move a sticker up the stack.
Can I use my own stickers?
Yes. Click Add your own sticker image and choose a PNG, WebP or GIF; transparent backgrounds are kept. Your sticker appears under the Yours tab for as long as the page is open. To make a sticker from a photo first, use the Sticker Maker.
What does the white outline do?
It adds a die-cut style white border around the sticker's shape, like a real vinyl sticker, which helps it stand out on busy photos. The drop shadow adds a soft shadow underneath.
Is the result full quality?
The photo is exported at its own resolution, up to 2400 pixels on the long side. Drawn stickers are rendered at 512 px and emoji at about 400 px, so keep stickers below roughly that size in the final image for the sharpest edges.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser with the Canvas API, and the decorated image is saved directly to your device.
Are all the tools on FreeToolCabin tested for quality and accuracy?
Yes! Every tool on our site undergoes automated Q/A testing in real browser environments to ensure high precision, correct output, and zero errors. If you happen to spot a bug or have a suggestion, please contact us at [email protected] and our team will review it right away.
