How to use the Speech Bubble Generator
Add a photo: drop it on the box, paste it with Ctrl+V or click Choose photo. A sample picture is loaded so you can try the tool first.
Add a bubble with one of the style buttons: Speech, Thought, Shout, Box, Whisper or Caption.
Type your text in the Text field. It wraps and resizes to fit; use Text size for a fixed size.
Place it: drag the bubble, pull the square corner handle to resize it and drag the orange dot to aim the tail at the speaker's mouth.
Download the image as PNG or JPG, or copy it to paste into a chat.

Lettering tips
Keep each bubble short: one or two short sentences read best. Split long dialogue into two bubbles.
Readers follow bubbles left to right and top to bottom, so place the first speaker's bubble higher and further left.
Don't cover faces. Put bubbles in sky, walls or other empty areas and let the tail reach the speaker.
Classic comics use ALL CAPS in a comic font; Impact with a yellow fill makes a strong shout.
Make the outline thicker on large, busy photos so the bubble stands out; 0 px gives a flat, modern look.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between speech, thought and shout bubbles?
In comics a smooth oval with a pointed tail shows normal speech, a cloud with a trail of small circles shows a character's thoughts, a spiky burst shows shouting or a loud sound, and a dashed outline shows whispering. Rectangular caption boxes without a tail are used for narration such as 'Meanwhile…'.
How do I point the bubble at the right person?
Select the bubble and drag the round orange handle. The tail follows it from the centre of the bubble, so drop the handle near the speaker's mouth. For thought bubbles the handle sets where the trail of small circles ends.
Why does my text get smaller?
With Text size set to Auto the tool picks the largest size at which all lines fit inside the bubble, so long text becomes smaller. Make the bubble bigger with the corner handle, shorten the text, or choose a fixed text size.
Can I add several bubbles to one photo?
Yes, add as many as you like. Click a bubble to select it, then edit, duplicate, delete or bring it to the front. Bubbles drawn later are on top of earlier ones.
Will the downloaded image keep full quality?
The photo is exported at its own resolution, up to 2400 pixels on the long side, and the bubbles are drawn as sharp vector shapes at that size. PNG keeps everything lossless; JPG gives a smaller file.
Which fonts are available?
The lettering uses fonts already on your device, such as Comic Sans MS, Impact and your system's handwriting font, so they may look slightly different between Windows, Mac and phones. The text becomes part of the image, so it looks the same for everyone you share it with.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. Everything is drawn with the Canvas API in your browser and saved directly to your device.
