Turn a phone photo of a page, receipt or form into a clean, flat scan. The page edges are found automatically, the perspective is straightened, shadows are removed and you can save every page as one PDF. Nothing is uploaded.

How to use the Online Document Scanner
Add photos of your pages: drop them on the box, press Choose photos or Take photo on a phone. A sample page is loaded so you can try it.
Check the corners: the page edges are detected automatically. Drag any corner onto the paper corner if needed; the loupe shows a zoomed view while you drag.
Pick a scan mode: Auto color whitens the paper and keeps colors, Grayscale is neutral, B&W gives crisp black text. Use Clean-up strength or Threshold to fine-tune.
Add more pages and use the arrows, rotate and delete buttons in the page strip to put them in order.
Download PDF to save all pages in one file, or Download page to save the current page as an image.
How the scanner turns a photo into a flat page
Edge detection. The photo is reduced to about 320 pixels, blurred and split into bright and dark areas with Otsu's threshold. The largest connected bright region is taken as the paper, and the four points of its convex hull that enclose the biggest area become the corners.
Perspective correction. The four corners define a projective transform (a 3 × 3 homography with 8 unknowns, solved from the 4 corner pairs). Every pixel of the flat output page is mapped back into the photo and sampled with bilinear interpolation. The output width is the longer of the top and bottom edges, the height the longer of the left and right edges.
Lighting clean-up. The page is divided into small blocks and the brightest value in each block is taken as the local paper color. That background map is smoothed and every pixel is divided by it, which removes shadows, gradients and yellowish light and makes the paper white. A levels curve then deepens the ink.
Black & white. After the lighting correction each pixel is compared with the Threshold: brighter becomes white, darker becomes black. Because the threshold is applied after removing shadows, it works across the whole page even in uneven light.

Tips for better phone scans
Put the page on a dark table or a dark sheet so the edges stand out.
Use daylight or two light sources to avoid one-sided shadows; avoid the flash, which causes a bright glare spot.
Fill most of the frame with the page while keeping all four corners visible.
Hold the phone steady and tap to focus on the text; a sharp photo matters more than a straight angle.
For multi-page documents, photograph all pages first, then drop them in at once and reorder in the page strip.
Frequently asked questions
How do I scan a document with my phone without an app?
Open this page in your phone's browser, press Take photo and photograph the page on a darker surface. The scanner finds the edges, straightens the page and cleans it up. Add more pages the same way, then press Download PDF. Nothing is installed and the photos stay on your phone.
What makes a photo turn into a good scan?
Place the paper on a contrasting, darker background, keep all four corners in the frame, avoid casting your shadow on the page and use daylight or even room light instead of the flash. Holding the phone roughly parallel to the page gives the sharpest result, although the perspective correction can fix strong angles.
The edges were not detected correctly. What can I do?
Drag the four corner handles onto the paper corners; the zoom loupe helps you place them precisely. Auto detection looks for the largest bright area, so it can fail on white paper on a white desk. Detect edges retries, and Full image resets the corners to the whole photo.
Which scan mode should I use?
B&W is best for printed text, contracts and forms because it gives the smallest, sharpest file. Grayscale keeps pencil marks, stamps and photos readable. Auto color is for documents with colored logos, highlights or signatures in blue ink.
How does the perspective correction work?
The four corners you set define a quadrilateral in the photo. The tool computes a projective transform (homography) that maps it onto a flat rectangle whose size matches the page's edge lengths, then resamples every output pixel from the photo with bilinear interpolation.
Are my documents uploaded to a server?
No. Edge detection, warping, cleaning and PDF creation all run in your browser. This makes the tool safe for IDs, bank letters and contracts, and it keeps working once the page has loaded even without a connection.
How big will the PDF be?
With Standard quality a typical page is around 150 to 400 KB in color or grayscale and smaller in black & white. Choose Small to reduce the size for email or High for archiving and printing.
