Type a few keywords about your business, blog or project and choose the extensions you like. The generator combines them with prefixes, suffixes and blends into up to 60 brandable domain ideas, scores each one for length, pronounceability and extension, and gives you a quick link to check registration.

Click Check next to a favorite to see whether it is already registered, then buy it from any registrar.
How the ideas are built
The generator applies a set of naming patterns to your keywords, keeps only names that are valid domain labels (letters, digits and single hyphens, not starting or ending with a hyphen, at most 63 characters) and within your length limit, then pairs each name with every extension you entered.

The scoring formula
Score = length (35) + pronounceability (20) + no hyphens or digits (15) + extension (20) + keyword kept (10), for a maximum of 100.
Length: 35 points for 6 letters or fewer, minus 3 for each extra letter. Short names are easier to remember and type.
Pronounceability: 20 when vowels make up 30 to 60 percent of the letters, otherwise 12, minus 6 for each run of three or more consonants.
Extension: .com 20; .co, .io, .ai and .app 14; .net, .org and .dev 12; others 10.
Keyword: 10 if one of your keywords (3+ letters) appears intact, otherwise 4.
Before you buy, check that the name is not a trademark of another company in your field, and consider registering common misspellings or the .com version if you choose another extension.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool check if a domain is available?
No. Ideas are generated in your browser without any lookup, so they are instant and private. Each idea has a Check link that opens the official ICANN registration data lookup in a new tab, where you can see whether the name is already registered.
How is the score calculated?
Each idea gets up to 35 points for length (full points up to 6 letters, minus 3 per extra letter), 20 for pronounceability (a healthy share of vowels and no long consonant clusters), 15 for having no hyphens or numbers, up to 20 for the extension (.com scores highest because it is the most familiar) and 10 for keeping one of your keywords intact. The score is a guide, not a guarantee of success.
What makes a good domain name?
Short, easy to spell after hearing it once, free of hyphens and numbers, relevant or memorable, and on an extension your audience trusts. Say it out loud: if you would need to spell it out, consider another option.
Should I always choose a .com?
.com is still the most recognised extension, so it scores highest. Many good .com names are taken, though, and extensions such as .co, .io, .app, .shop or a country code like .co.uk are widely accepted, especially when they match your audience or industry.
What are blends and brandables?
Blends merge two keywords where they overlap or by clipping one of them, like a portmanteau. Brandables change a word slightly, for example dropping a vowel or adding -o or -ia, to create a distinctive name that is easier to find unregistered.
How is this different from the Business Name Generator?
The Business Name Generator focuses on company names. This tool focuses on the web address: it checks domain rules (letters, digits and hyphens only, up to 63 characters), applies your extensions and length limit, and scores names as domains.
