Write your questions, add answer options and mark the correct one, then take the quiz with instant feedback or share it with a link. The whole quiz lives inside the link, so there is no account or server.

How to use the Quiz Maker

    1. Give your quiz a title and an optional description.
    2. Write each question, fill in the answer options and click the circle next to the correct one. Add an explanation if you like.
    3. Add more questions with + Add question and reorder them with the arrows.
    4. Press Start quiz to take it yourself: choose an answer, press Check answer and see your score at the end.
    5. Press Create share link and send the link. Anyone who opens it can take the quiz right away.

    How the share link works

When you create a share link, the quiz is turned into compact JSON (title, description and for each question the text, options, index of the correct option and explanation). That text is encoded as UTF-8 bytes and then as base64url, a version of Base64 that uses - and _ instead of + and / so it is safe in URLs. The result goes after #quiz= in the address.

Everything after the # is never sent to a web server, so the quiz stays between you and the people you share it with. When the link is opened, the page decodes the text, checks that every question is valid and opens the quiz in take mode.

    Writing good multiple-choice questions

    • Ask one clear thing. The question should make sense even before the options are read.
    • Make wrong options believable. Use common mistakes and misconceptions rather than silly answers.
    • Keep options a similar length so the longest one is not a giveaway.
    • Avoid “all of the above” and double negatives, which test reading tricks rather than knowledge.
    • Add an explanation to each question. Learners remember feedback much better right after answering.

Ideas for using the quiz maker

    • Teachers: quick exit tickets, homework checks and revision quizzes shared in a class chat.
    • Students: turn your notes into practice tests before an exam.
    • Trainers: knowledge checks after a workshop or onboarding session.
    • Friends and family: trivia nights, birthday quizzes and “how well do you know me” games.

    Frequently asked questions

How do I share my quiz?

Press Create share link and copy the link. The quiz questions, answers and explanations are encoded inside the link itself, so whoever opens it can take the quiz immediately without an account.

Is my quiz stored on a server?

No. Drafts are saved in your own browser's local storage, and shared quizzes travel inside the link. Nothing is uploaded to FreeToolCabin.

Can people see the answers in the link?

The link is encoded, not encrypted, so a determined person could decode it and find the answers. It is fine for practice quizzes, revision and fun, but not for graded exams where cheating matters.

Can I edit a quiz after sharing it?

Yes, edit your draft and create a new link. Links you already sent keep the old version, because each link contains its own copy of the quiz.

How many questions and options can a quiz have?

Each question can have 2 to 6 answer options. You can add as many questions as you like, but very long quizzes make very long links; above roughly 8,000 characters some apps may cut links off.

Does it support other languages and emoji?

Yes. Text is encoded as UTF-8 before it is put in the link, so accented letters, non-Latin scripts and emoji all come through correctly.

Can I use keyboard shortcuts while taking a quiz?

Yes. Press A to F (or 1 to 6) to choose an answer and Enter to check it.
