How to use the Text to Video Maker
Type your text: each line becomes one scene. Put *asterisks* around words you want to highlight.
Choose the shape (16:9, 9:16, 1:1 or 4:5) and how long each scene lasts.
Style it: pick a background theme or photo, a font, colors, a text animation and a transition.
Add music (optional) and press Play preview to watch the result.
Press Create video, wait while it records in real time, then download the MP4 or WebM.

How long should each scene be?
Most adults read on-screen text at roughly 3 to 4 words per second when there is nothing else to watch. A good rule is 1 second plus about 0.3 seconds per word, never less than 1.5 seconds. That is what Auto timing does around your chosen average:

Tips for text videos people watch to the end
Hook in the first line. Viewers decide in a second or two; open with a question, a number or a bold claim.
Keep lines short. Five to eight words per scene read easily on a phone. Long lines are shrunk to fit, which makes them harder to read.
Highlight one word per scene with *asterisks* to guide the eye.
Use high contrast. Light text on dark backgrounds (or the "Text on a box" option over photos) stays readable on small screens.
Word by word and Typewriter animations suit quotes and stories; Fade up and Pop suit lists and tips.
Upload the SRT captions too: many people watch with the sound off, and captions are indexed by search engines.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn text into a video?
Paste your text into the box. By default each line becomes its own scene (you can also split by sentence or paragraph). Choose a look and press Create video: the tool draws every frame on a canvas and records it with your browser's built-in video encoder, then gives you a file to download.
How long is each scene shown?
Seconds per scene sets the average. With Auto timing on, short lines stay a bit shorter and long lines longer (about 0.3 seconds per extra word), which matches comfortable reading speed. Turn Auto timing off to give every scene exactly the same length.
Can I make vertical videos for Shorts, Reels or TikTok?
Yes. Choose 9:16 to get a 1080×1920 (or 720×1280) vertical video. Text is automatically wrapped and resized to fit any shape.
Why does creating the video take as long as the video itself?
The video is recorded in real time from the animated canvas, just like a screen recording, which is what lets it work in any modern browser without uploading anything. A 30-second video takes about 30 seconds. Keep the tab visible while it records.
Is the file MP4 or WebM?
Chrome, Edge and Safari can record MP4 (H.264) directly; Firefox records WebM. Both play on YouTube, social sites and most players. If you need MP4 from Firefox, convert the WebM with a WebM to MP4 converter.
Can I add my own music?
Yes. Add an MP3, M4A, WAV or OGG file. It is trimmed to the video length, or looped if it is shorter, and fades in and out automatically. Only use music you have the rights to use.
What does Download captions (SRT) do?
It saves a subtitle file with every scene's text and timing. Upload it alongside the video on YouTube or other platforms so the text is also available as accessible, searchable captions.
