Paste a list of song or video lengths to get the total playlist or album duration, the average, longest and shortest track, the start time of every track and how long it runs at faster playback speeds. Titles and track numbers are ignored automatically.

Paste from Spotify, YouTube, a CD booklet or a spreadsheet. Accepts mm:ss, h:mm:ss, 3m 45s or plain numbers; text and track numbers are ignored.

How to use the Playlist Duration Calculator
Paste your track list, one track per line, with or without titles.
Choose how plain numbers are read (seconds or minutes) if your list has no colons.
Add a gap between tracks if your player or CD adds silence.
Read the total duration, average and longest track.
Copy the timestamps or download the track table as CSV.
How playlist duration is calculated
Each length is converted to seconds: h × 3,600 + m × 60 + s. The seconds are added, optional gaps of g seconds are added between tracks ((n − 1) × g), and the sum is converted back to hours, minutes and seconds.
Example: 3:45 + 4:12 + 5:03 + 3:28 + 6:17 + 2:54 + 4:39 = 225 + 252 + 303 + 208 + 377 + 174 + 279 = 1,818 s = 30:18, an average of 259.7 s (4:20) per track. With 2-second gaps the total becomes 1,830 s, or 30:30.

Tips
Copying from streaming apps: select the track list in the web player and paste it; lines without a time (headers, artist names) are skipped and reported.
Spreadsheets: a column of seconds pasted from Excel or Google Sheets works when "Plain numbers are" is set to seconds.
DJ sets and mixes: set the gap to 0, or subtract the crossfade length if tracks overlap.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add up song lengths?
Convert every length to seconds (minutes × 60 + seconds), add them, then convert back: divide by 3,600 for hours, take the remainder ÷ 60 for minutes and what is left is seconds. For example 3:45 + 4:12 + 5:03 = 225 + 252 + 303 = 780 s = 13:00.
Can I paste a track list with song titles?
Yes. Each line can contain a track number, title and artist; the calculator takes the time on the line (such as 4:12 or 1:02:30) and keeps the rest as the track name for the table and timestamp list.
How long can an audio CD be?
A standard audio CD holds 74 minutes and the common 80-minute CD-R holds 80 minutes of audio. If the gaps between tracks are counted, add about 2 seconds per track to the total before comparing.
How much fits on one side of a vinyl LP?
A 12-inch LP at 33⅓ rpm typically holds about 18 to 22 minutes per side for good volume and bass; longer sides are possible but are usually cut quieter. Check with your pressing plant for exact limits.
How do I make YouTube chapter timestamps?
Use the timestamp list under the results: each line shows the start time of a track followed by its name, starting at 0:00. Paste it into the video description; YouTube needs the first chapter to start at 0:00 and at least three chapters.
What is the average track length?
It is the total of the track lengths divided by the number of tracks, not counting gaps. The median, also shown, is the middle track length and is less affected by one very long or very short track.
