- Print the checklist for the fridge, or tick tasks off on screen as you go.

Tips to make a cleaning schedule stick
- Clean top to bottom, dry to wet. Dust shelves and fans before vacuuming, and vacuum before mopping, so dirt only falls onto areas you have not cleaned yet.
- Group by room. Finishing one room at a time saves trips for supplies; the generator puts the same room's weekly tasks on the same day where it can.
- Keep a caddy. Store an all-purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, microfiber cloths and a scrub brush together so you can start right away.
- Use a timer. Short, timed sessions are easier to keep up than a long weekly marathon.
- Share the load. Assign days or rooms to each person, or turn the list into a chore chart for kids.
- Let disinfectants sit. Cleaners only kill germs if the surface stays wet for the contact time on the label.
Frequently asked questions
What should be on a weekly cleaning schedule?
Most homes need a weekly round of cleaning the bathrooms (toilet, shower, sink and floor), changing bed sheets, vacuuming and mopping floors, dusting surfaces, wiping kitchen appliances, clearing out the fridge and taking out trash and recycling. Daily habits like doing dishes and wiping counters keep the weekly jobs short.
How often should you clean each room?
Kitchens and bathrooms get daily quick wipes and a full weekly clean because they collect germs and moisture. Bedrooms and living areas usually need weekly dusting and vacuuming, more often with pets or allergies. Jobs like baseboards, ceiling fans and the inside of the fridge are monthly, and ovens, windows and carpets are typically every few months.
How often should bed sheets be changed?
Once a week is a common recommendation, since sheets collect sweat, skin cells and dust mites. People with allergies or pets on the bed may benefit from washing bedding at least weekly in hot water if the care label allows.
How does the generator adjust for pets and kids?
With dogs, floors in living areas are vacuumed up to three times a week and pet bedding is washed weekly; cats add a daily litter scoop and weekly litter change. Young kids add more frequent floor, table and high-touch cleaning plus toy sanitizing. Larger households get extra laundry, trash runs and toilet cleaning.
How long does it take to clean a house each week?
It depends on size and household. The generator estimates the minutes for every task and totals them per day and per week, so a typical 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom home with a dog comes out at a few hours a week of weekly chores plus around half an hour of daily tidying. Your own times will vary with speed and clutter.
Is the schedule saved?
Yes. Your settings and ticked tasks are stored in this browser's local storage on this device only. Nothing is uploaded. Use Clear ticks to start a fresh week, or print and download the CSV to keep a copy.
