How to use the Online Video Editor
Import your media: press Import media or drop videos, photos and music on the page. They are added to the timeline in order.
Arrange and trim: drag clips along the timeline, drag their edges to trim, and press S (or Split) to cut at the red playhead.
Add titles and effects: press Add text, then select any clip to set transitions, size, position, volume and fades.
Choose the format: 16:9 for YouTube, 9:16 for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, or 1:1 and 4:5 for feeds.
Press Render MP4, check the preview and download your video.
How the timeline works
Tracks are drawn from bottom to top: Video is the main picture, Overlay sits on top of it (for picture-in-picture, logos, B-roll or a second camera), and Text is always in front. The two audio tracks play together with the sound of your video clips.
To do this
Do this
Move a clip
Drag it left or right, or onto another track of the same type. It snaps to the playhead and to the edges of other clips.
Trim the start or end
Drag the left or right edge of the clip.
Cut a clip in two
Put the red playhead where you want the cut and press S or Split.
Remove a part in the middle
Split at the start and the end of the part, select the middle piece and press Delete, then drag the next clip left to close the gap.
Crossfade two clips
Put the second clip on Overlay so it overlaps the end of the first one, and give it a Fade transition in.
Dip to black
Give the first clip a Fade out and the next clip a Fade in.
Picture-in-picture
Put a clip on Overlay, set Scale to about 35% and use Move X / Move Y to place it in a corner.

Higher resolution and frame rate make sharper, smoother video but take longer to render and produce bigger files. A rough size estimate at Standard quality is 0.12 bits per pixel per frame: about 3.3 Mbit/s (25 MB per minute) at 720p 30 fps and 7.5 Mbit/s (56 MB per minute) at 1080p 30 fps.
How the MP4 is rendered
Instead of recording the screen, the editor builds the video frame by frame: for each frame it seeks every visible clip to the exact time, draws the picture, transitions and text onto a canvas and hands it to your browser's built-in video encoder (WebCodecs, usually H.264). The audio of all clips is mixed separately with volume and fades, encoded as AAC or Opus, and both streams are packed into an MP4 file. That is why rendering is frame-accurate. Photos and titles render faster than real time; video clips need a seek for every frame, so expect roughly one to three times the video's length depending on your device, resolution and frame rate. If your video only needs one simple change, the single-purpose tools such as the Video Trimmer, Video Merger or Add Text to Video are quicker.
Frequently asked questions
Is this online video editor really free with no watermark?
Yes. There is no watermark, no account and no time limit. All editing and rendering happen in your browser, so there is no server cost to pass on.
Are my videos uploaded?
No. Your files are opened directly by your browser and the final MP4 is built on your device. Nothing is sent to a server, which also means large files do not have to upload first.
Which browsers can export MP4?
Recent Chrome, Edge and Opera, Firefox 130 or newer and Safari with WebCodecs support render MP4 quickly frame by frame. Older browsers fall back to recording the video in real time while it plays, which may produce WebM instead.
How do I make a vertical video for TikTok, Reels or Shorts?
Choose the 9:16 aspect ratio at the top. Landscape clips are fitted with bars; select a clip and set Fit to Fill (crop) to fill the vertical frame, then use Move X to pick the part of the picture to keep.
How do I add music to my video?
Import an MP3, WAV or M4A file; it goes onto Audio 1. Drag its edges to trim it to the length of the video, set Fade out for a smooth ending and lower the volume of the video clips if the music should be in front.
Why can't my video be imported?
The editor can only use formats your browser can play. MP4 with H.264 and WebM work everywhere; some MOV, HEVC (H.265) or AVI files do not play in every browser. Convert them to MP4 with the Video Converter first.
How long can my project be?
There is no fixed limit, but everything runs in your device's memory. Short and medium projects (a few minutes at 720p or 1080p) work well on most computers; for very long videos use a lower resolution and keep the tab in front while rendering.
