- Save a slide as a picture with Download slide (PNG) if you want to share or print just one slide.
What the viewer shows
PowerPoint files contain much more than text. This viewer reads the slide, its layout and its master, then draws everything in the same order PowerPoint does: background, master shapes such as logos, layout shapes, then the slide's own content. Here is what is supported.

|---|---|---|
| Text, bullets and numbered lists | Yes | Fonts you do not have are replaced by similar ones |

| Shapes, lines and arrows | Yes | Common preset shapes, freeforms, solid, gradient and picture fills |
| Tables | Yes | Cell fills, borders, merged cells and table styles |
| Charts | Yes | Bar, column, line, area and pie charts from their saved values |

| Hidden slides | Yes | Marked in the thumbnails and skipped in presentation mode |

Tips
- Rehearse with notes. Start the presentation and press N: your notes appear over the bottom of the screen while you practice.
- Present from any computer. Open the file here on a borrowed laptop or a meeting-room PC that has no Office installed.
- Need a file to share? Convert the deck to a PDF so it looks the same everywhere, or save single slides as PNG images.
Frequently asked questions
How can I open a PowerPoint file without PowerPoint?
Open the .pptx file on this page and it is displayed in your browser with thumbnails, notes and a presentation mode. Other free options are PowerPoint for the web with a Microsoft account, Google Slides (which converts the file), Apple Keynote on a Mac and LibreOffice Impress.
Is my presentation uploaded to a server?
No. A .pptx file is a ZIP package of XML files and pictures. This viewer unpacks and draws it with JavaScript in your browser, so the presentation stays on your device. That makes it safe for confidential decks and works on slow connections.
Can I see the speaker notes?
Yes. The notes of the current slide appear in the panel under it. In presentation mode press N or the Notes button to show them over the bottom of the screen, which helps when you rehearse.
Why does my slide look slightly different from PowerPoint?
The viewer redraws each slide itself. Fonts that are not installed on your device are replaced by similar ones, so text can wrap a little differently. Animations, transitions, video, audio, 3D models and some effects such as shadows and glows are not played or drawn; the static content of the slide is shown.
Can it open old .ppt files?
No. The old binary .ppt format (PowerPoint 97 to 2003) is completely different from .pptx. Open the .ppt in PowerPoint, Google Slides, Keynote or LibreOffice and save it as .pptx, then view it here. Keynote files need to be exported to PowerPoint first.
Which keys can I use?
Right arrow, Down arrow and Page Down go forward; Left arrow, Up arrow and Page Up go back; Home and End jump to the first and last slide. In presentation mode Space, Enter and a mouse click also advance, Backspace goes back, N toggles notes and Esc ends the show.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. On a narrow screen the thumbnails move below the slide as a scrolling strip, and you can tap the right side of the slide to go forward or the left side to go back. Presentation mode uses the full screen where the browser allows it.
