How to count 60 days from a date
Adding days is simple arithmetic on the calendar: result date = start date + 60 days. The start date itself is day 0, tomorrow is day 1, and the 60th day after it is the answer. Because 60 = 8 × 7 + 4, the period is 8 full weeks plus 4 days, which is why the weekday always moves 4 places forward (a Wednesday start ends on a Sunday).
To count by hand, use the days left in each month. From October 23: 8 days finish October (24–31), 30 days cover November (running total 38), and 22 more days into December reach 60, so the answer is December 22.
Inclusive counting. Some notices say “within 60 days, including the day of notice”. Then the start date is day 1 and the last day is start + 59. Under the general rule in US federal procedure (Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 6(a)), the day of the event is excluded, every following day is counted including weekends and holidays, and if the last day falls on a weekend or legal holiday the period runs to the next working day. Always check the rule in your own lease, contract or policy.
60 days after the 1st of each month
Handy for quick checks. Dates are for a common (non-leap) year; in a leap year the results for January 1 and February 1 move one day earlier.

Subtract one for each public holiday on a weekday inside the period. Over the US year-end, for example, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day can all fall within a single 60-day window.
Return windows and trials: if the last day lands on a weekend, a store or service may close earlier than you expect; act a day or two before.
Notice periods: write down both the start date and the final date, and note whether your agreement counts calendar days or business days.
Planning: 60 days is about two months, a common length for project sprints, probation periods and payment terms (net 60).
Frequently asked questions
What date is 60 days from today?
The calculator at the top of this page shows it automatically, based on your device's date. It counts tomorrow as day 1 and today's date plus 60 calendar days as the answer, so the result is always correct for the day you visit.
What weekday will it be 60 days from now?
60 days is 8 weeks and 4 days, so the weekday moves 4 days forward. A Monday becomes a Friday, a Tuesday becomes a Saturday, a Friday becomes a Tuesday, and so on.
How many business days are in 60 calendar days?
Without holidays, 60 calendar days contain 42 to 44 weekdays (Monday to Friday), depending on the weekday you start from. Any public holiday in the period lowers that number by one.
Is 60 days the same as 2 months?
Not exactly. Two calendar months are 59 to 62 days depending on the months involved, so 60 days from January 1 is March 2 in a normal year but March 1 in a leap year. If a contract says 2 months, count months; if it says 60 days, count days.
Should I count today as day 1?
Usually not. The common rule, also used in US federal court deadlines, excludes the day of the event and starts counting the next day. Some notices count inclusively, so turn on Count the start date as day 1 if your document says so.
What is 60 business days from today?
It is the 60th weekday after today, skipping Saturdays, Sundays and (if selected) US federal holidays. That is about 12 weeks, or roughly 84 calendar days, plus one extra day for each holiday skipped.
How do I find the date 60 days ago?
Set Direction to Days before. The calculator subtracts 60 calendar days from the start date and shows the date, weekday and business days in that earlier span.
