Kegel Exercise Timer
Follow the circle: it shrinks while you squeeze and grows while you relax. Pick a level, press Start and the timer guides every rep, set and rest with tones, optional voice and vibration, then logs your streak.

How to use the Kegel Exercise Timer
- Choose a level. Beginners start at Level 1 (3-second squeeze, 3-second relax, 10 reps, 2 sets), or set your own timing with Custom.
- Get comfortable, sitting or lying down, and press Start session. You get 5 seconds to get ready.
- Squeeze when you hear the high tone and the circle shrinks; hold until the relax cue.
- Relax fully on the low tone while the circle grows. Rest between sets when prompted.
- Finish the session to log it. Come back daily to build your streak and move up a level when it feels easy.
Kegel levels in this timer
The levels follow the usual approach of building hold time gradually and always relaxing for as long as you squeeze. Stay at a level until every rep feels controlled, then move up. The timer suggests advancing after 7 completed sessions at a level.
| Level | Squeeze / relax | Reps × sets | Rest | About |

| Level 3 | 5 s / 5 s | 10 × 3 | 30 s | 6 min 05 s |
| Level 4 | 7 s / 7 s | 10 × 3 | 30 s | 8 min 05 s |
| Level 5 | 10 s / 10 s | 10 × 3 | 30 s | 11 min 05 s |

Times include the 5-second get-ready countdown.
Technique tips
- Breathe normally. Holding your breath makes you push down instead of lifting up.
- Isolate the muscles. Keep your stomach, buttocks and thighs relaxed; place a hand on your belly to check.
- Let go completely on every relax cue. Full relaxation is part of the exercise.
- Quality over quantity. If you cannot hold for the full time, use a lower level rather than squeezing weakly.
- Start lying down, then try sitting and standing as you progress.
- Ask a professional if you feel pain or are unsure you are doing it right. A pelvic floor physical therapist can help, and this timer is not a substitute for medical advice.
Frequently asked questions
What is a Kegel exercise?
A Kegel is a voluntary squeeze and release of the pelvic floor muscles, the group of muscles that supports the bladder and bowel. They are named after Dr. Arnold Kegel, who described them in the 1940s, and they can be done by people of any sex.
How do I find the right muscles?
They are the muscles you would use to hold in gas or to slow the flow of urine. Use that only to identify them; health services advise against practicing by stopping urine regularly. Your stomach, thighs and buttocks should stay relaxed while you squeeze.
How long should I hold each squeeze?
Many guides suggest starting with holds of about 3 seconds and relaxing for the same time, then building up to around 10 seconds as the muscles get stronger. That is why the levels go from 3 to 10 seconds. Always relax for at least as long as you squeeze.
How many sets a day are recommended?
A common recommendation is about three sets of 10 repetitions a day, spread across the day. Follow the advice of your doctor or a pelvic floor physical therapist if you have been given a specific program.
What are quick flicks?
Quick flicks are fast, strong one-second squeezes followed by a full release. They train the muscles to react quickly, for example when you cough, sneeze or lift something.
When will I notice a difference?
Results vary from person to person. Many people need several weeks to a few months of regular practice. If you have pain, or no improvement after a few months, talk to a doctor or a pelvic floor physical therapist; they can check your technique.
How is my streak counted?
A day counts once you complete a full session on that day; stopped sessions do not count. The streak is the number of days in a row with at least one completed session, up to today or yesterday. History is stored only in your browser.
