How to use the Reverse PDF Page Order
Add your PDF files by dropping them into the box or clicking to choose. You can add several at once.
Pick what to reverse: all pages (default) or a page range such as 3 to 10.
Check the preview. Thumbnails show the new order, and each card notes which page it used to be.
Press Reverse & download for one file, or Reverse all & download ZIP when you added several.
Open the new copy named name-reversed.pdf. Your original files are not changed.
When reversing page order helps
Scanner output in the wrong order. Many sheet-fed scanners and copiers pick up the stack from the top, so a pile placed face up comes out ending with page 1.
Printing back to front. Printers that deliver pages face up leave page 1 at the bottom of the pile. A reversed copy prints in the right order for collating.
Merged files in the wrong direction. Chat logs, statements and exports sometimes list the newest page first. Reversing turns them into oldest-first reading order.
Double-sided scans. When you scan the fronts of a stack and then the backs, the backs usually come out in reverse. Reverse the back pages as a range, then interleave them with an organizer.
How the new order is worked out
For a document with n pages, the page at new position i is the old page n − i + 1. So in a 10-page PDF, new page 1 is old page 10, new page 2 is old page 9, and so on. When you reverse only a range from page a to page b, each page p inside the range moves to a + b − p, and every page outside the range keeps its number.

What stays the same
The tool moves page objects inside the PDF instead of re-rendering them, so text, fonts, vector graphics and images are byte-for-byte identical to the original. Internal links and bookmarks point to pages rather than page numbers, so they follow each page to its new position. Need more control, such as dragging single pages or deleting some? Use Organize PDF. If pages are also upside down, fix them with Rotate PDF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I reverse the page order of a PDF?
Drop the PDF into the box above and press Reverse & download. The tool saves a copy where the last page comes first and the first page comes last. Your original file stays as it was.
Why would I need to reverse PDF pages?
The most common reason is a document scanner or a printer output tray that stacks pages face up, so the scan ends with page 1. Reversing fixes the order in one step instead of dragging every page by hand.
Can I reverse only some of the pages?
Yes. Choose Page range and enter the first and last page, for example 3 to 10. Only those pages swap places; pages before and after the range stay where they are.
Can I reverse several PDFs at once?
Yes. Add as many PDFs as you like. Each one is reversed separately and you can download them individually or together in a single ZIP file.
Does reversing reduce quality or remove links?
No. Pages are moved, not re-rendered, so text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. Links, bookmarks and form fields still point to the correct pages.
Is this the same as rotating pages?
No. Reversing changes the order of the pages, while rotating turns each page by 90 or 180 degrees. If your pages are upside down as well, use the Rotate PDF tool after reversing.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. The PDF files are read and rewritten by JavaScript inside your browser, so they never leave your device.
Are all the tools on FreeToolCabin tested for quality and accuracy?
Yes! Every tool on our site undergoes automated Q/A testing in real browser environments to ensure high precision, correct output, and zero errors. If you happen to spot a bug or have a suggestion, please contact us at [email protected] and our team will review it right away.
