PDF Editor
Type on a PDF, cover mistakes with whiteout, highlight lines, draw freehand, and drop in images, logos or shapes on any page. Everything stays sharp because your edits are saved as real PDF content, and the file never leaves your device.
Pick a tool, then click or drag on a page.

How the edits are stored
Your original pages are not re-drawn or converted to pictures. Each edit is appended to the page as normal PDF content: text is written with the standard PDF fonts, shapes and pen strokes become vector paths, and images are embedded once even if you place them several times. That is why the result stays sharp at any zoom and prints cleanly, and why the original text of the document remains searchable.
Positions are measured in PDF points (1 point = 1/72 inch), the same unit the font size uses, so 12 pt text here is the same size as 12 pt text in a word processor.
Whiteout is not redaction
Whiteout and shapes are drawn on top of the page. They hide content visually, but the original text underneath is still stored in the file and can be copied or extracted. For confidential information such as account numbers or personal details, use Redact PDF, which removes the covered content permanently. To sign a document, Sign PDF offers drawn, typed and uploaded signatures.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add text to a PDF for free?
Open the PDF, choose the Text tool and click where the text should go, then type. Pick the font, size and color in the toolbar, and press Save & download PDF. The text is written into the page as real PDF text, so it prints sharply and can be selected.
Can I change or delete the existing text in a PDF?
PDFs do not store paragraphs the way a word processor does, so existing text can't be retyped directly. The usual way is to cover the old words with the Whiteout tool and type the new text on top with the Text tool. Note that whiteout hides the text visually; to remove sensitive text from the file completely, use Redact PDF.
Which fonts can I use and does it support every language?
Text is saved with the three standard PDF fonts, Helvetica, Times and Courier, in regular, bold and italic. They cover English and most Western European languages. Characters outside that set, such as Cyrillic, Greek, Chinese or emoji, cannot be stored with these fonts and are replaced, and the tool warns you when that happens.
Will editing reduce the quality of my PDF?
No. Your original pages are kept exactly as they are and your edits are added on top as vector text, shapes and images. Nothing is rasterized, so the text in the original document stays searchable and the file size grows only by what you add.
How do I insert an image or logo into a PDF?
Choose the Image tool and pick a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF file. It is placed on the page you are looking at; drag it into position and pull a corner to resize it. PNG transparency is kept.
Can I edit a password-protected PDF?
If the PDF needs a password to open, it cannot be edited here. Files that open without a password but have editing restrictions can also fail to save. Save an unprotected copy in an app where you know the password and edit that copy.
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?
No. The document is opened, edited and saved in your browser on your own device. Nothing is sent to a server.
