Raffle Draw
Paste your list of names, give anyone extra tickets with "Name x3", and draw one or many random winners with a live animation and confetti. The draw uses a secure random generator and runs entirely in your browser.

How to use the Raffle Draw
- Paste or type the entries, one name per line. Add "x3" after a name for 3 tickets.
- Set the number of winners and choose whether a person can win more than once.
- Press Draw winner and watch the names spin until the winner appears.
- Tick Remove winners if you draw prizes one at a time and want winners out of the next round.
- Copy results or download a CSV to share or keep as a record.
How the draw works
Every entry is turned into tickets. For each winner, the tool picks a random ticket number between 1 and the total number of tickets still in the draw, then finds whose ticket it is. With Each person can win only once, all of the winner's remaining tickets are removed before the next pick; otherwise only the winning ticket is removed. Example with six entries and 12 tickets in total:
| Entry | Tickets | Chance to be drawn first |
|---|---|---|
| Farah x4 | 4 | 4 / 12 = 33.3% |
| Alice x3 | 3 | 3 / 12 = 25% |
| Chloe x2 | 2 | 2 / 12 = 16.7% |
| Ben, Daniel, Emma | 1 each | 1 / 12 = 8.3% each |
The chance for the first prize is simply tickets ÷ total tickets. For later prizes it depends on who has already won, which is why the entrant table shows the first-draw chance.
Accepted list formats
Name: one ticket.Name x3,Name ×3orName *3: three tickets.Name (3),Name, 3orName;3: three tickets (handy when pasting from a spreadsheet).- Repeated names are merged and their tickets added up; letter case does not matter.
Tips for running a transparent raffle
Announce the rules and the closing time first, and freeze the entry list before drawing. Share your screen or record the draw, and keep the CSV of winners. When you draw prizes one by one (for example the grand prize last), tick Remove winners from the list so nobody wins twice. Need a more visual draw for a class or stream? Spin the Picker Wheel, or split the group with the Random Team Generator. Raffle and lottery laws differ between countries and states, especially when tickets are sold, so check the local rules for paid raffles.
Frequently asked questions
Is the raffle draw fair?
Yes. Each ticket gets an equal chance: the tool picks a ticket with your browser's cryptographically secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) using rejection sampling, so there is no bias toward any position in the list. The animation is only for show; the winner is chosen before it starts.
How do I give someone more tickets?
Write the number of tickets after the name: "Farah x4", "Farah ×4", "Farah *4", "Farah (4)" or "Farah, 4". If the same name appears on several lines, the tickets are added together. Use Merge duplicates to rewrite the list that way.
How do I draw several winners without repeats?
Set Number of winners and keep Each person can win only once ticked. After a person is drawn, all their tickets are taken out of that draw, so every winner is different.
What if a person has many tickets?
More tickets mean a higher chance: someone with 4 of 20 tickets has a 20% chance to be drawn first. Untick Each person can win only once if each ticket can win its own prize; then a person can be drawn once per ticket.
Can I use it for an Instagram or YouTube giveaway?
Yes. Copy the usernames of eligible entrants into the list (one per line), draw, and screen-record the draw for transparency. Check the platform's promotion rules and local laws on raffles and prize draws.
Are the names uploaded anywhere?
No. The list stays in your browser. It is saved in local storage only so it is still there when you come back; use Clear list to remove it.
