How to use the Random Joke Generator
Choose a category, or All for a random mix.
Read the setup out loud and let everyone guess.
Press Reveal punchline (or Space). Knock-knock jokes reveal one line at a time, so you can play both parts.
Rate it with 😂 or 🙄, save it with the star, or copy and share it.
Press Next joke for another one. Every joke in a category comes up once before any repeats.
Tips for telling a joke well
Pause before the punchline. A one-second pause gives the listener time to guess, which makes the surprise land better.
Keep the setup short. Dad jokes and puns work best when the setup is a single, simple question.
Say the pun clearly. Most of these jokes depend on a word that sounds like another word ("two-tired", "impasta"), so don't rush it.
Own the groan. With corny jokes, the eye-roll is the reward. Smile and wait for it.
Know your audience. Knock-knock and animal jokes are perfect for younger kids; puns and science jokes suit older kids and adults.

Frequently asked questions
Are these jokes appropriate for kids?
Yes. Every joke is clean and family-friendly, with no rude words, mean put-downs or grown-up topics. They are suitable for children, classrooms, lunchbox notes and family dinners.
What makes a dad joke a dad joke?
A dad joke is a short, deliberately corny joke, usually built on a pun or a very literal reading of a phrase, such as "I'm reading a book about anti-gravity. It's impossible to put down." The groan it gets is part of the fun.
How do knock-knock jokes work?
One person says "Knock, knock," the other answers "Who's there?", the first gives a name or word, the second asks "[Name] who?", and the punchline turns that word into a pun. This generator plays the lines in that order, one tap at a time.
How many jokes are there?
There are 222 jokes: 32 dad jokes, 30 puns, 38 knock-knock jokes, 33 animal jokes, 31 food jokes, 29 school jokes and 29 science and space jokes.
Will the same joke come up again?
Not until you have seen every joke in the category. The jokes are shuffled like a deck of cards and reshuffled only when the deck runs out.
