      • Lil / Young: the most common modern prefix pair, suggesting a new or younger version of an artist.
      • Old-school MC: MC (master of ceremonies), DJ, Grandmaster and Kool, plus endings like -Rock and -Flow from 1980s hip-hop.
      • Trap: flashy words about money and jewelry, often plural with a z (Bandz, Stackz).
      • Conscious / lyrical: words about writing and wisdom: Poet, Scribe, Proverb, Sonnet.
      • Drill: short, punchy names with numbers and letters (Dz, 23, -Rilla).
      • SoundCloud / emo: lowercase, moody and internet-style (lil haze, maro.wav).
      • Boss: titles of power: Don, Jefe, Chairman, Mogul.

Checklist before you pick a stage name

Search the name on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube and SoundCloud, check that the handle is free on the social networks you use, say it out loud in a sentence ("Ladies and gentlemen, ..."), and make sure it still feels right in five years. For crew or band names, try the Band Name Generator, and for matching handles the Username Generator.

      Frequently asked questions

How does the rapper name generator use my name?

It makes nickname variants from your name: the first syllable (Marcus becomes Mar), endings like -z and -o (Marz, Maro), letter swaps (s to z, c to k), an -a ending for names ending in -er, backwards spelling when it is pronounceable, your initials and the initials spelled out. Then it combines them with words that fit the chosen hip-hop style.

      What is my rapper name?

Type your first and last name, pick a style and press Generate rapper names. Try several styles: the same name can become Lil Marz, MC Em-El or Maro Bandz.

Will I get the name of a real rapper?

The generator blocks a list of well-known real rap names. Because names are built from common words, always search a name online before you release music with it.

Can I use the name for my music?

Yes, the names are free to use. Before releasing music, check streaming services, social networks and trademark databases so you are not confused with another artist.

What makes a good rap name?

It is short, easy to say and spell, says something about your style or story and is not already taken on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud and Instagram.

      Is my name stored?

No. Names are generated locally in your browser. Only favorites and the last style you chose are saved on your own device.
