Work out who owns which pet, drinks which drink or lives in which house using nothing but the clues. Mark ✗ for impossible pairs and ✓ for matches in the grid until every person is matched. Each puzzle is generated fresh and has exactly one solution.

How to use the Logic Grid Puzzles
Choose a difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard. A new puzzle is generated immediately.
Read the story and the clues. Each person has exactly one item from every category, and no two people share an item.
Mark the grid: click a cell once for ✗ (these two cannot go together) and twice for ✓ (they match). With auto-fill on, a ✓ crosses out the rest of its row and column.
Combine information across the blocks: if Ava owns the cat and the cat owner drinks tea, then Ava drinks tea.
Press Check my grid at any time to find mistakes, or Get a hint when you are stuck. The puzzle is solved when every ✓ is correct.
Solving strategies
Start with direct clues. "Ben drinks tea" is a ✓; "Cara is not the dog owner" is an ✗. Mark them all first.
Look for the last empty cell. In each block, every row and every column has exactly one ✓. If three cells in a row of four are ✗, the fourth is ✓.
Transfer information between blocks. If Ava ✓ cat and the cat owner ✗ coffee, then Ava ✗ coffee. Most progress in harder puzzles comes from this step.
Use ordering clues to rule out the ends. If X lives directly to the left of Y, X cannot be in the last house and Y cannot be in the first.
Test a case when stuck. Assume one possibility for an either/or clue and follow it; if it leads to a contradiction, the other option must be true.

Difficulty levels
Easy puzzles have 3 categories with 4 items and mostly direct clues, with an extra clue left in to make the start smoother. Medium adds a fourth category and more either/or and ordering clues. Hard uses 5 people, so there are 120 possible orders per category, and the clue set is trimmed to the minimum the solver needs, which means you will have to chain several deductions together.
Frequently asked questions
What is a logic grid puzzle?
A logic grid puzzle gives you a small group of people and several categories (pets, drinks, houses and so on) and a list of clues. Every person matches exactly one item in each category. By ruling out impossible pairs on a grid and combining clues you deduce the one arrangement that fits every clue.
Is this the Einstein or zebra puzzle?
The famous zebra puzzle, often said to be by Albert Einstein although there is no evidence he wrote it, is a large logic grid puzzle with five houses and five categories. These puzzles use the same kind of reasoning in smaller sizes, from 3 categories of 4 up to 4 categories of 5.
Does every puzzle have exactly one solution?
Yes. After the clues are generated, a built-in solver tries every possible arrangement and keeps adding clues until exactly one arrangement is left. It then removes clues that are not needed, so each clue matters.
How do I use the grid?
Each small block compares two categories. An ✗ means the row item and column item belong to different people, a ✓ means they belong to the same person. Each row and column of a block ends up with exactly one ✓. When a row has only one empty cell left after the ✗ marks, that cell must be the ✓.
How do the left and right clues work?
Houses are numbered from left to right, so house 1 is on the far left. Directly to the left means the very next house, next door means either side, and somewhere to the left means any house with a lower number.
What does "either ... or" mean in a clue?
"Ava is either the cat owner or the tea drinker" means Ava is exactly one of the two, and the cat owner and the tea drinker are two different people. So whichever one Ava is not, she can be ruled out for that item.
What does the Check button do?
Check compares your marks with the solution and highlights any ✓ that is wrong or any ✗ placed on a real match. It does not fill anything in. A hint either points out a mistake or fills in one cell, and puzzles solved with hints are not counted for best times.
