All values can be changed under Game settings. For badminton, set points to win to 21 and the deciding game to 21 with best of 3 (the rules cap a game at 30 points). Youth leagues often play shorter periods: just change the clock length.
Tips for running the scoreboard
Use a second device as the display. Open the scoreboard on a laptop connected to a TV or projector and press Fullscreen; keep scoring with the keyboard shortcuts.
Tap the score itself for the most common action (+1). The bigger buttons are easy to hit on a phone or tablet courtside.
Fix mistakes with Undo. It reverses the last score, foul, set or period change, step by step.
Swap sides at half-time or between sets so the display matches the teams' positions on the court.
Frequently asked questions
How do I use this as a scoreboard on a TV?
Open the page on a laptop or tablet connected to the TV (or cast the browser tab) and press Fullscreen. The scores and clock scale up to fill the screen, and you can keep scoring from the keyboard: Q and A for the first team, P and L for the second, and Space to start or stop the clock.
How does the volleyball scoring work?
The volleyball preset uses rally scoring: sets are played to 25 points and must be won by 2, the fifth set is played to 15, and the first team to win 3 sets wins the match. When a set is won, the set count goes up and the points reset automatically. The serve indicator moves to the team that won the last rally.
What are the table tennis rules in the preset?
Games are played to 11 points and must be won by 2, in a best-of-five match (first to 3 games). These are the standard rules used in most competitions.
Can I keep score for more than two players?
Yes. Choose the Players preset for board games, card games or quizzes. You can add up to 12 players, rename them and use +1, +5 and +10 buttons.
Does the clock keep running if the page goes to the background?
Yes. The clock is based on the real elapsed time, so it stays accurate even if the browser slows down hidden tabs. A buzzer sounds when a countdown reaches zero (if sound is on).
Will my scores be saved?
Yes. The scoreboard is saved automatically in your browser, so a refresh or accidental close does not lose the score. Press Reset scores to start a new game.
