Tips for parents and teachers
Play together. Younger children enjoy the quiz most with a grown-up reading along and talking about each fun fact.
Talk about wrong answers. Every answer shows a short fact; ask your child to explain it back in their own words.
Move up a level once a child earns three stars in every topic, or go down a level to build confidence.
Use the topics as springboards. After a space round, look at the Moon that evening; after geography, find the places on a globe or map.
Keep sessions short. One or two 10-question rounds is plenty for young children.
Frequently asked questions
What ages is this quiz for?
There are separate question sets for ages 5–6, 7–8, 9–10 and 11–12. Questions for the youngest group use simple words and three answer choices; older groups get four choices and harder facts. Children can always try a higher or lower level.
How does the read-aloud feature work?
It uses your browser's built-in speech synthesis to read the question, the answer choices and the fun fact. It works in most modern browsers on computers, tablets and phones. If your device has no voices installed, the quiz still works without sound.
How are stars awarded?
Every correct answer earns one star, which is added to your star total. Each 10-question round also gets a rating: 9 or 10 correct is three stars, 6 to 8 is two stars, 3 to 5 is one star. Your best rating for each age and topic is shown on the topic buttons.
Are the questions the same every time?
No. Each topic has 10 questions per age group, shown in random order with shuffled answers, and Mix of everything picks a random selection from all four topics, so rounds feel different each time.
Is this quiz safe for children?
Yes. There is no sign-up, no chat and no personal information collected. Everything runs in the browser and progress is stored only on your device. All questions are family-friendly and checked for accuracy.
Can teachers use this in class?
Yes. It works well on an interactive whiteboard or projector: choose the class's age group, turn on read-aloud and let pupils vote on each answer. The fun facts make good starting points for discussion.
Where do the facts come from?
Facts are based on widely accepted science and geography references, such as NASA for space facts and standard atlases for geography. A few figures that change over time, like the number of moons of Saturn or the country with the most people, reflect counts as of 2025.
