How to use the Basketball Shooting Game
Press Start game. The 60-second clock starts and a ball appears on the floor.
Aim: press anywhere on the court and drag in the direction you want to throw. The dotted arc shows the start of the ball's path, and a longer drag throws harder.
Release to shoot. A new ball rolls in right away, so you can keep shooting while the last one is still in the air.
Build a streak: 3 baskets in a row doubles your points and 6 in a row triples them. Swishes add a bonus point and 2 extra seconds.
Keep up with the hoop. At 10, 25, 45 and 70 points the hoop starts moving faster. Keyboard players can aim with ← →, set power with ↑ ↓ and shoot with Space.
How the shot physics works
Once it leaves your hand, the ball follows a projectile path: it keeps its sideways speed while gravity pulls it down at a constant rate. Its position after t seconds is
x = x₀ + vₓ·t and y = y₀ + vy·t + ½·g·t²
where vₓ and vy come from your drag and g is the game's gravity. The rim edges and backboard are solid: the ball bounces off them, losing about half of its speed into the rim. A basket only counts when the centre of the ball passes down through the opening, so you cannot score from underneath.

Tips for a higher score
Find your power. From the middle of the floor, a drag of about a quarter of the court height usually reaches the hoop. Shots from the sides need a little more.
Shoot high arcs. A steep drop gives the ball a wider target than a flat line drive.
Don't rush on a streak. A miss resets your multiplier, so one careful shot is worth more than two hurried ones once you are at ×2 or ×3.
Chase swishes late in the game. Each one adds 2 seconds, which can be enough for two more shots.
Frequently asked questions
How do you shoot in the basketball shooting game?
Press on the court, drag toward the basket and release. The direction of your drag sets the direction of the throw and the length of the drag sets the power. A dotted line shows the start of the arc. On a phone, drag with your finger; a fast upward flick also works.
How is the score calculated?
Every basket is worth 2 points. A swish, where the ball drops through without touching the rim or backboard, earns 1 extra point. After 3 baskets in a row all points are doubled, and after 6 in a row they are tripled, until you miss.
How long is a game?
Each game lasts 60 seconds. Every swish adds 2 seconds to the clock. When the clock reaches zero, balls already in the air still count if they go in, so a buzzer beater can still win you points.
When does the hoop start moving?
The hoop is still on level 1. It starts sliding side to side at 10 points (level 2), slides faster at 25 points (level 3), also moves up and down at 45 points (level 4), and moves fastest at 70 points (level 5).
What is the best way to aim?
Aim for a high arc that drops into the hoop from above; flat shots tend to hit the front of the rim. Lead a moving hoop by aiming where it will be when the ball arrives, and use the backboard for bank shots when the ball spawns near the side.
