Coloring tips for neat, bright pages
- Fill big areas first. Start with backgrounds, bodies and sky using the bucket, then add details with the brush at a small size.
- Use the brush for shading. Pick a slightly darker version of a color with the custom picker and paint along one side of a shape to make it look rounded.
- Recolor freely. Tapping a filled area with a new color replaces it in one step, so try a few color combinations before you decide.
- Mandalas look best with a plan. Choose 3 to 5 colors and repeat them ring by ring, or alternate warm and cool colors between neighbouring rings.
- Print a blank copy to color by hand after you have tested a color scheme on screen.

Why coloring mandalas is popular
A mandala is a circular design built from repeating shapes arranged around a center. Because every section repeats, coloring one is a slow, rhythmic task: you choose a color, fill the same shape all the way around the circle, then move to the next ring. Many adults use this kind of repetitive, low-stakes activity to relax and focus. The generator here builds each mandala from rings of petals, arches, dots, spikes and leaves with 8 to 16 fold symmetry, so there is always a new one to try.
Frequently asked questions
Are these coloring pages free to print?
Yes. Every page here is free to color online, print and download for personal, classroom or home use. Use Print blank outline if you want a page to color with crayons or pencils.
How does the bucket fill work?
The fill tool looks only at the black outlines. It spreads from the spot you tap until it reaches a line, then grows a few pixels under the line so no white edge remains. Because it ignores earlier colors, tapping an already colored area simply recolors that whole area.
Why did my fill color a bigger area than expected?
Fill stops only at closed outlines. If an area is open somewhere, the color flows through the gap into the next area. Press Undo, then use the brush to color that part instead.
Is my coloring saved?
Yes. Your colors are saved in your browser's local storage a moment after each change, for up to 8 pages. Returning to a page restores your work. Nothing is uploaded, and clearing site data removes the saves.
How are the mandalas made?
The mandala generator picks a number of symmetric sections (8, 10, 12 or 16) and stacks rings of petals, arches, dots, spikes and leaves from the outside in. Each design comes from a number called a seed, so Mandala #2024 always looks the same.
Can I use it on a tablet or phone?
Yes. Tap to fill and drag to paint with your finger or a stylus. When the brush or eraser is selected the page does not scroll while you draw on the canvas; switch back to Fill to scroll normally.
What size is the downloaded PNG?
Downloads are 1000 × 1000 pixels with a white background and the outlines on top of your colors. That prints sharply at about 8 × 8 cm at 300 DPI or fills a letter or A4 page at screen quality.
