Press the silicone bubbles for a satisfying pop, then flip the toy to pop them all again. Choose a heart, circle, diamond or classic square, pick a color theme, or challenge a friend (or the computer) to the classic pop it game where whoever pops the last bubble loses.

How to use the Pop It Game
Pick a mode: Free pop for fidgeting, 2 players to play a friend on one device, or vs computer.
Choose a look: select a shape, size and color theme. The board redraws instantly.
Pop: click or tap bubbles, or hold and drag across them in free play. Press Flip board to pop the other side.
In a game: on your turn pop one or more bubbles from a single row, then press End turn. Tap a bubble you popped this turn to undo it.
Win: leave your opponent with the last bubble. Whoever pops the last bubble loses the round; press New round to play again.
Pop it game rules (last pop loses)
Start with every bubble raised. Decide who goes first; on this page the starting player alternates each round.
On your turn, pop one or more bubbles, all from the same row. They do not have to be next to each other.
Press End turn to pass the board to the other player. You cannot pass without popping at least one bubble.
Whoever pops the last bubble on the board loses the round.
Some families play a variant where you may only pop bubbles that touch each other. You can still play that way here; just agree on the house rule before you start.
The math behind winning
The pop it game is a form of Nim, one of the oldest solved games. Each row is a pile, and the bubbles left in it are the pile size. Write each row count in binary and combine them with exclusive or (XOR), column by column, to get the nim-sum.
Situation on your turn
Best move
Two or more rows have 2+ bubbles, nim-sum is not 0
Pop from one row so the nim-sum becomes 0
Two or more rows have 2+ bubbles, nim-sum is 0
You are in a losing position; pop one bubble and hope for a mistake
Exactly one row has 2+ bubbles
Reduce that row to 0 or 1 so an odd number of single-bubble rows remain
Only single-bubble rows remain
Pop one; you win if the count you faced was even
Example: rows of 3, 5 and 6 bubbles. In binary that is 011, 101 and 110; their XOR is 000, so the player to move is already losing against perfect play. With rows of 3, 4 and 6 the nim-sum is 001, and popping one bubble from the row of 3 (leaving 2, 4, 6, nim-sum 0) is a winning move.
Fidget tips
Drag to pop in Free pop: hold down and sweep across a row for a quick string of pops.
Flip it whenever you like. Bubbles you skipped become popped and popped ones rise again, just like turning over a real silicone toy.
Full screen enlarges the bubbles on phones and tablets, which makes the board easier for small children to press.
Frequently asked questions
What are the rules of the pop it game?
Players take turns. On your turn you pop as many bubbles as you like, but only from one row, and you must pop at least one. Then the other player goes. The player who is forced to pop the very last bubble loses. The game is a version of the classic mathematical game Nim played with the misere rule, where taking the last object loses.
Is there a strategy to always win pop it?
Yes. Count the bubbles left in each row and combine the counts with binary exclusive or (nim-sum). If you can leave a position whose nim-sum is zero, your opponent is in a losing spot, with one twist near the end: when only rows of one bubble remain, you want to leave an odd number of them. The computer on Hard plays exactly this strategy, so beating it takes a lucky start position.
What does Flip board do?
A real pop it toy has bubbles on both sides: when everything is pushed in, you turn it over and the bubbles stick up again. Flip board does the same. Every popped bubble becomes poppable again and any bubble you skipped becomes popped, so the toy is never finished. In free play it flips automatically when the last bubble is popped if Auto flip is on.
How is this different from virtual bubble wrap?
Bubble wrap is a sheet of plastic bubbles that only pop once and then a new sheet appears. A pop it is a reusable silicone toy that you flip over, and it is also used for a turn-based game. This page focuses on the pop it: flipping, shapes, color themes and the two-player last-pop game.
Can two people play on one phone or tablet?
Yes. Choose 2 players and pass the device back and forth. The banner above the board shows whose turn it is in that player's color, and a win counter keeps track of rounds. Rows a player cannot touch on the current turn are dimmed so mistakes are hard to make.
Why can't I hear the pop sound?
Sounds are made with the Web Audio API and start after your first click or tap, because browsers block audio until you interact with the page. Check that the Sound box is ticked, the device is not muted, and on iPhone that the silent switch is off.
