Upload a Word document (.docx) or paste formatted text from Word, Google Docs or a web page. You get clean, semantic HTML: headings, paragraphs, lists, links, tables and bold or italic text, without inline styles, Word classes or empty tags. Everything runs in your browser.

How to use the Word to HTML Converter
Choose the input: upload or drop a .docx file, or switch to Paste and paste text copied from Word or Google Docs.
Set the cleanup options: remove inline styles, classes, empty tags and span or font tags, keep images, and more.
Check the result in the HTML code box and the live preview. The output updates instantly when you change an option.
Copy the HTML or download it as an .html file, either as a fragment or as a complete HTML document.
Use Word's built-in styles. Text formatted with Heading 1, Heading 2 and the list buttons becomes real <h1>, <h2> and lists. Text that is only made bigger and bold stays a paragraph.
Upload the .docx for images. The file contains the images, so they can be embedded. Pasted images usually refer to temporary files on your computer.
Keep inline styles only when needed. For a website or CMS, clean HTML that inherits your site's CSS is easier to maintain. Turn off Remove inline styles for HTML emails, where inline styles are often required. Word-only properties such as mso- styles and fonts are still removed.
Click Choose .docx file (or drop the file on the box). The document is converted in your browser with the open-source mammoth.js library, then cleaned with the options you pick. Copy the HTML or download it as an .html file.
Why not use Word's own Save as Web Page?
Word's Save as Web Page output is full of Office-specific markup: mso- styles, conditional comments, o:p tags and classes like MsoNormal. It looks right in a browser but is hard to edit and breaks website styles. This tool produces short, semantic HTML that inherits your site's CSS.
Can I paste from Google Docs?
Yes. Switch to the Paste tab and paste. Google Docs wraps everything in bold tags with font-weight: normal and uses span styles for formatting; the converter unwraps those and keeps real bold, italic and underline as semantic tags.
What about images?
When you upload a .docx file, images are embedded as base64 data URIs so the HTML works on its own. Images pasted from Word usually point to temporary files on your computer and cannot be shown; upload the .docx instead, or turn off Keep images and add them separately.
Does it support .doc files?
Only the modern .docx format is supported. Open an older .doc file in Word, LibreOffice or Google Docs and save it as .docx first, or copy its content and paste it here.
Is my document uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens entirely in your browser. The only thing loaded from the internet is the mammoth.js library itself when you choose a .docx file.
