Turn your network name and password into a QR code that phones scan to join your Wi-Fi without typing. Pick a table card, wall sign or mini card layout, then download it as PNG, SVG or PDF or print it straight away. Nothing you type leaves your browser.

How to use the WiFi QR Code Generator
Type your network name (SSID) exactly as it appears in your phone's Wi-Fi list, including capital letters and spaces.
Choose the security type (WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for almost every home and business router) and enter the password. Tick Hidden network if your SSID is not broadcast.
Pick a layout: table card, Letter or A4 wall sign, mini card, or the QR code on its own.
Personalize the sign with your own heading, instructions, footer and color theme, and decide whether to print the password as text.
Test it: scan the preview with your phone camera and confirm it offers to join the network.
Download the PNG, SVG or PDF, or press Print sign and print at 100% (Actual size).
The WiFi QR code format
A Wi-Fi QR code is an ordinary QR code that contains one line of text in a format first defined by the ZXing barcode project and now read natively by iOS and Android cameras. The fields are separated by semicolons and the line ends with two semicolons:
WPA: 8–63 characters or 64 hex digits; WEP: 5/13 characters or 10/26 hex digits; left out for open networks
H:
Hidden network
true when the SSID is not broadcast; omitted otherwise
The characters backslash \, semicolon ;, comma ,, colon : and double quote " have special meaning, so they are escaped with a backslash. A network called Joe's Café; 2nd floor is stored as S:Joe's Café\; 2nd floor;. This generator does the escaping for you, and the exact encoded text is shown under the preview.

Tips for a sign guests can actually use
Scan before you print. Point your phone camera at the preview on screen; it should offer to join the network by name.
Use a guest network. Most routers can create a separate guest SSID that keeps visitors away from your computers, printers and smart-home devices.
Print the password as text too for laptops and older phones that can't scan, and use the monospace font shown on the sign to tell O from 0 and l from 1.
Keep the white border. The quiet zone of 4 modules around the code is part of the standard; cropping it makes scanning unreliable.
Dark on light only. The code is always printed near-black on white for maximum contrast; avoid glossy lamination that reflects ceiling lights, or raise error correction to Q or H if you laminate.
Print at 100%. Choose Actual size in the print dialog so the 4 × 6 card and mini card come out at the right dimensions.
Frequently asked questions
How does a WiFi QR code work?
The code stores a short text in the format WIFI:T:WPA;S:network;P:password;; that phones recognise. When the camera reads it, iPhone (iOS 11 and later) and Android (10 and later, or via Google Lens on older versions) show a Join network prompt, so guests connect without typing the password.
Which security type should I choose?
Pick WPA/WPA2/WPA3 for nearly all routers, including WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode; the code uses T:WPA, which phones handle for all three. Choose WPA3 only (SAE) just if your router is set to WPA3-only and a guest's phone fails with the normal option, because older phones may not understand T:SAE. Use None for open networks and WEP only for very old equipment.
Is it safe to put my Wi-Fi password in a QR code?
The password is not encrypted: anyone who scans the code or reads the printed text can see it, just like a password written on a card. Use it for a guest network rather than your main network, and change the password if a sign has been visible to people you do not want on it. This page creates the code in your browser and never uploads what you type.
Why does my phone say it can't join the network?
Usually the network name or password does not match exactly: both are case-sensitive and spaces count. Check the security type, make sure the router is in range, and if the network is hidden, tick Hidden network. Enterprise (WPA2-Enterprise / 802.1X) logins with a username are not supported by most phone cameras.
Does the QR code expire or stop working?
No. It is a static code containing your network details, with no link or online service behind it. It keeps working until you change the network name or password on your router; then simply make a new code.
What size should I print a WiFi QR code?
Keep the code at least 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 in) for close-up scanning, and larger for signs read from a distance. A common rule is a width of about one tenth of the scanning distance, so a code scanned from 1 m away should be around 10 cm wide. Always leave the white border (quiet zone) around it.
Which error correction level should I use?
Medium (15%) is a good default. Higher levels (Q or H) let the code survive scratches, folds or glare on laminated signs, but they make the pattern denser, so print it a little larger. Low gives the simplest pattern for small printouts.
