How to use the Label Maker
Pick a label type: Jar, Address, Shipping or Product. The sheet layout switches to a typical size for that type.
Fill in the text and choose the font, colors, border and shape. Add a logo if you like. For address labels, tick the list option and paste many addresses separated by blank lines.
Choose the label sheet: select the layout printed on your label package, or choose Custom and enter the label size, rows, columns, margins and gaps.
Set where to start: click a label on the sheet preview to skip labels that are already used, and choose to fill the sheet or print a set number.
Print or download the PDF. Print at 100% (actual size), not Fit to page, and test on plain paper first by holding it against the label sheet.

The numbers are the product codes printed on many label packs; other brands often print a compatible code on their packaging. If your sheet is not listed, choose Custom layout and measure it with a ruler.
How to measure a custom label sheet
Label width and height: measure one label, not including the gap around it.
Top margin: from the top edge of the page to the top edge of the first row of labels.
Left margin: from the left edge of the page to the left edge of the first column.
Column and row gaps: the space between two labels side by side, and between two rows. Many sheets have no row gap (0).
A quick check: left margin + columns × label width + (columns − 1) × column gap should be close to the page width (8.5 in for US Letter, 210 mm for A4). The tool warns you when the labels would not fit.
Getting a perfect print
Print a test page on plain paper with Print label outlines ticked.
Hold it over a label sheet against a window or lamp and check the alignment.
In the print dialog always pick Actual size / 100%, the correct paper size and no extra margins.
If everything is shifted by the same amount, adjust the top or left margin in Custom layout; printers often feed paper 1 to 2 mm off.
Frequently asked questions
How do I print labels so they line up with the sheet?
Choose the layout that matches the code on your label package, then print at 100% or Actual size; turn off Fit to page or Scale to fit in the print dialog, because scaling shifts every label. Print one test page on plain paper, hold it against the label sheet in front of a light, and adjust the top and left margins in Custom if needed.
Which layout matches Avery 5160?
Avery 5160 and 8160 labels are 1 x 2-5/8 inches, 30 per US Letter sheet in 3 columns and 10 rows, with a 0.5 inch top margin, a 3/16 inch left margin and a 1/8 inch gap between columns. Select the 5160 layout and the tool uses exactly these measurements. Many store brands use the same layout under the number 5160.
Can I make address labels from a list?
Yes. Choose Address, tick One label per address and paste your list with a blank line between addresses. Each address goes on its own label in order, and extra pages are added automatically when the list is longer than one sheet.
Can I reuse a sheet that already has some labels missing?
Yes. Click the first free label on the sheet preview, or type its number in Start at label. The tool skips the used positions and starts printing there.
What barcode does the label maker use?
It creates Code 128 barcodes, the format used by most shipping carriers and warehouses for tracking and order numbers. All-number codes with an even number of digits are encoded in the compact numeric mode automatically. Print at 100% and keep the barcode at least 0.5 inch tall for reliable scanning.
What size are shipping labels?
The most common shipping label is 4 x 6 inches, used by thermal label printers and most carriers. On a regular printer you can use half-sheet labels (5.5 x 8.5 inches, two per Letter sheet). Both layouts are included.
Is my data private?
Yes. The labels, addresses and logos are drawn and turned into a PDF in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored on a server.
