Logo Maker
Create a clean text logo in a minute. Type your brand name, choose a font and an icon, try a layout or a badge, and download a transparent PNG or an SVG. It is free, has no watermark and works in your browser.
Tagline style
PNG has the font built in. The SVG keeps the name as live text (not converted to outlines) and loads the Google Font when it is opened online, so for print or a design handoff, outline the text in a vector editor or use the PNG.
How to use the Logo Maker
- Type your brand name and, if you like, a short tagline.
- Pick a starter style or choose a font, weight, size and color yourself.
- Add an icon on the Icon tab and set its color, size and spacing.
- Choose a layout such as icon left or a circle badge, and set a background on the Background tab.
- Download a PNG (2x or 4x for sharp results) or an SVG file.
What makes a good text logo
- Readable at small sizes. Your logo will appear as a 32-pixel social avatar and a browser tab icon as well as on a big banner. Medium to bold weights hold up better than thin ones.
- Two or three colors at most. One main color for the name and one accent for the icon is usually enough. Check that the name has strong contrast against the background.
- A simple mark. A single shape such as a leaf, hexagon or bolt is easier to recognize and remember than a detailed picture.
- Works in one color. Try the logo in black or white only. If it still reads well, it will work on documents, stamps and merchandise.
Choosing a layout
| Layout | Best for | Shape |
|---|---|---|
| Icon left | Website headers, email signatures, invoices | Wide and short |
| Icon top | Posters, packaging, splash screens | Tall and centered |
| Text only | Wordmarks, personal brands, minimal styles | Wide |
| Circle badge | Social profile pictures, stickers, stamps | Round |
| Square badge | App icons, favicons, Instagram avatars | Square |
Logo sizes for common places
| Where | Recommended size | Tip |
|---|---|---|
| Website header | About 160–400 px wide (export 2x) | Icon left layout, transparent background |
| Social profile picture | 400 × 400 px or larger | Circle or square badge, it gets cropped to a circle |

Frequently asked questions
Is this logo maker really free?
Yes. You can design as many logos as you like and download PNG and SVG files without signing up, paying or getting a watermark. The tool runs in your browser, so nothing is uploaded.
Can I use the logo commercially?
The icons and shapes are original drawings made for this tool and the fonts come from Google Fonts, which are open source and free for commercial use. Simple text logos are hard to trademark, so for an important brand check that no one already uses a similar name and mark in your field.
What size should a logo PNG be?
For websites and social media, a logo around 500 to 1000 pixels wide is plenty. The 2x option doubles the preview size and 4x quadruples it, which is good for presentations and large banners. For print, use the 4x PNG or the SVG.
What is the difference between the PNG and SVG download?
The PNG is a pixel image with the font built in, ready for documents, websites and social profiles, and it keeps a transparent background. The SVG is a vector file that scales to any size, but its text stays as live text that loads the Google Font when opened online. Before sending it to a printer, open it in a vector editor and convert the text to outlines.
How do I make a logo with a transparent background?
Keep Background set to Transparent, which is the default, and download the PNG. The checkered grid in the preview shows which areas are see-through.
Which font is best for a logo?
Geometric sans fonts such as Montserrat, Poppins and Inter look modern and stay readable at small sizes. Serif fonts such as Playfair Display feel classic and premium, and script fonts such as Pacifico feel friendly but work best for short names.
Can I turn my logo into a favicon?
Yes. Use the square badge or an icon-only design, download the PNG and convert it with the PNG to ICO tool to get a multi-size favicon file.
