How to use the Wallpaper Generator

If your device is not listed, check its screen resolution in the settings or spec sheet and use Custom size. A wallpaper slightly larger than the screen is fine; a smaller one gets upscaled and can look soft.
Choosing colors that work as a wallpaper
- Analogous colors (neighbors on the color wheel, such as orange, coral and pink) create calm, natural gradients. Most of the built-in palettes use this approach.
- Complementary accents (opposites such as blue and orange) add energy; keep one color dominant and the other as a small highlight.
- Keep icons readable. Busy, high-contrast patterns make app labels hard to read. Pattern opacity between 8% and 25% keeps texture without the noise.
- Dark wallpapers save battery on OLED screens (most recent iPhones and Android flagships), because black pixels are switched off.
- Mind the clock. On a phone lock screen, the time covers roughly the top 15–25% of the screen. Put text or focal points in the middle or lower third.
Gradient types explained
Linear gradients blend colors along a straight line at the angle you choose. Radial gradients spread outward from a point, like a glow. Conic gradients sweep colors around a center like a color wheel. Mesh gradients blend several soft color areas placed around the canvas, which gives the organic, blurred look popular in modern phone wallpapers. Adding a light noise grain over any gradient (opacity around 8–12%) also hides the faint color banding that smooth gradients can show on some screens.

What size wallpaper do I need for my phone?
Use your screen's native resolution. For example iPhone 16 and 15 are 1179 × 2556, iPhone 16 Pro Max is 1320 × 2868, and most Android phones are 1080 × 2400 or 1080 × 2340. Pick your model in the preset list and the tool uses the exact size.
How do I set the downloaded image as wallpaper?
On iPhone, save the PNG to Photos, open it, tap Share and choose Use as Wallpaper. On Android, long-press the home screen, choose Wallpaper & style, then pick the image from your gallery. On Windows, right-click the PNG and choose Set as desktop background; on macOS, use System Settings > Wallpaper.
Why does my phone zoom or crop the wallpaper?
Phones can add a parallax or perspective zoom effect that enlarges the image slightly. Turn off Perspective Zoom (iPhone) or the motion effect on Android, and keep important details away from the edges.
What is a mesh gradient?
A mesh gradient blends several colors from different points instead of along a single line, giving a soft, organic look like a blurred photo of colored lights. This tool creates it by blending soft color blobs, and Shuffle rearranges them.
Will the wallpaper look blurry?
No. The PNG is rendered at the full pixel size you choose, not upscaled from the preview, and PNG is lossless, so gradients and patterns stay sharp.
Can I make a 4K desktop wallpaper?
Yes. Choose 4K UHD (3840 × 2160), 5K display or Ultrawide 21:9 in the Desktop group, or enter any custom size up to 7680 pixels wide.
Are the wallpapers free to use?
Yes. Everything is generated in your browser from your own choices, with no watermark, so you can use the results for personal or commercial projects.
