Fill in your details: company name, tagline, address, phone, email, website and an optional extra line.
Write the letter: date, recipient, subject and the text of the letter, then pick text size, line spacing and paper size.
Download the letter PDF, the blank letterhead PDF, or a PNG of the page, or press Print.

Letterhead tips
Keep it light. The letter is the message; the letterhead should take up no more than about a fifth of the page.
Use two colors at most, ideally your brand colors. Dark main colors keep text readable; the tool switches the band text to dark when you pick a very light color.
Leave room for printer margins. Most office printers cannot print the outer 4–6 mm of the page. Edge-to-edge bands print best on printers with borderless printing or from a print shop.
Check legal requirements. In the UK and EU, company letters usually must show the registered company name, number and registered office address; use the extra line for that.
Standard business letter order: date, recipient's name and address, subject line, salutation, body, closing ("Sincerely,"), three blank lines for a signature, then your name and title.
Frequently asked questions
What should a business letterhead include?
At minimum: the company or sender name, a logo if you have one, a postal address, and at least one way to reply such as phone, email or website. Many companies also add a tagline and legal details like the company registration number or VAT number, which some countries require on business letters.
How do I use the letterhead in Microsoft Word or Google Docs?
Download the PNG, which is a full page at 300 DPI. In Word, insert it into the header and set it to 'Behind text' and stretch it to the page edges, or use Design > Page Color > Fill Effects > Picture. In Google Docs, insert the image and choose 'Behind text'. You can also print a stack of blank letterhead PDFs and print your letters onto them.
What size is a letterhead?
A letterhead uses the normal letter paper size: US Letter (8.5 × 11 in, 216 × 279 mm) in the United States and Canada, and A4 (210 × 297 mm) in most other countries. Choose the paper size under Letter; the layout adapts to it.
What logo file works best?
A PNG with a transparent background, at least 600 pixels wide, prints sharpest. JPG works too but shows a white box behind the logo on colored areas, which is why the Color band template puts logos on a white plate. SVG logos are converted to a high-resolution image.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes. Names, contact details and the letter are written as real PDF text with standard Helvetica or Times fonts, so the PDF is small, sharp at any zoom and searchable. Characters outside the Latin alphabet are drawn as high-resolution images so they still appear correctly.
Is my logo uploaded anywhere?
No. The letterhead is drawn and the PDF is built entirely in your browser. Your settings and logo are only saved in this browser's local storage so they are there next time; use Reset all to clear them.
