Why checklists work
A checklist moves the job of remembering from your head to paper. Instead of holding dozens of small tasks in memory, you only need to follow the list and tick each line. That is why checklists are used for everything from aircraft pre-flight checks to surgical safety routines, and why a simple printed list makes packing, moving or planning an event far less stressful.
Tips for a better checklist
Start each item with a verb when it is a task ("Book movers", "Confirm venue") so it is clear what done means.
Group items into sections by room, category or deadline. Timeline sections such as "8 weeks before" work well for moving and weddings.
Keep items short and specific. "Phone charger" is easier to check off than "electronics".
Leave blank lines for things you think of later, and add a notes area for phone numbers or measurements.
Reuse it. Save the PDF for trips or chores you repeat, and use Untick all to start a fresh round.

Frequently asked questions
Is this checklist maker free?
Yes. You can create, print and download as many checklists as you like without an account or watermark. Everything is generated in your browser.
Can I reorder checklist items?
Yes. Drag the ⋮⋮ handle beside an item to move it, including into another section, or drag a section's handle to move the whole section. Keyboard users can focus a handle and press the up and down arrow keys.
How do I fit more items on one page?
Switch to 2 or 3 columns, lower the text size, and turn off blank lines and the notes area. Short item names also help because long ones wrap onto extra lines.
Can I add many items at once?
Yes. Copy a list from a document, note or spreadsheet column and paste it into any item field. Each line becomes its own item, and bullets, numbers or [ ] markers at the start of lines are removed.
Is my checklist saved?
Your checklist is saved automatically in this browser's local storage, so it is still there when you come back on the same device. Nothing is uploaded. Download the PDF or copy the text to keep a copy elsewhere.
Why do some characters show as a question mark in the PDF?
The PDF uses the standard built-in fonts (Helvetica, Times and Courier), which cover English and Western European letters. Emoji and letters from other scripts such as Cyrillic, Greek or Chinese are not included and are replaced. Accented Latin letters like é, ñ and ü work fine.
