How to use the Brochure Maker
Pick a template and fold: choose tri-fold or bi-fold and Letter or A4.
Click a panel in the Outside or Inside preview to edit it, or pick it from the Panel list.
Edit the panel: heading, text (start a line with '- ' for bullets or '## ' for a subheading), background, decoration and an optional image.
Set the theme: three colours and a font pair restyle every panel at once.
Download PDF, print page 1 and 2 on one sheet with two-sided printing set to flip on the short edge, at 100%, then fold along the guides.
Tri-fold and bi-fold panel layout
Each sheet is printed on both sides. The tool places panels in print order, so after folding the cover, back and flap end up in the right place.

How to fold a tri-fold brochure
Lay the printed sheet with the inside facing up (the three inside panels visible).
Fold the right panel over the middle along the right fold line. This becomes the inside flap.
Fold the left panel over the top. The front cover is now on the outside and the back cover behind it.
Run a ruler or bone folder along each fold for crisp edges. On card stock, score the fold lines first.
Brochure writing tips
The cover sells the opening. Use a clear title, one short line on the benefit and a strong image.
One idea per panel. Short headings and bullets are easier to scan than long paragraphs.
Put the action on the back. Phone, email, address, website and a QR code belong on the back cover, which people check last.
Keep text inside the safe area. Home printers cannot print to the very edge and folds can drift slightly, so keep important text 0.25 in from edges and folds.
Frequently asked questions
How is a tri-fold brochure laid out?
A letter-fold tri-fold has six panels, three per side. The outside (print side 1) holds, from left to right, the inside flap, the back cover and the front cover. The inside (side 2) holds the three panels you see when the brochure is fully opened. The tool places every panel in this order for you.
What size is a tri-fold brochure?
The usual flat size is US Letter, 11 x 8.5 in, folded to about 3.67 x 8.5 in. In A4 countries it is 297 x 210 mm, folded to 99 x 210 mm. Legal size (14 x 8.5 in) is used for longer content.
How do I print a two-sided brochure at home?
Print the PDF with two-sided (duplex) printing and choose flip on short edge, because the pages are landscape. Print at 100% or Actual size. If your printer is single-sided, print page 1, put the sheet back in the tray the right way round, and print page 2.
Why does the inside flap end up on the left of the outside page?
When you fold a letter-fold brochure, the right inside panel folds in first and becomes the flap you see when you open the cover. On the printed outside it sits on the left, next to the back cover in the middle and the front cover on the right.
Should the fold-in panel be narrower?
Professional printers often make the fold-in panel 1/16 to 1/8 in narrower so it tucks in without buckling. On regular 20-24 lb paper equal panels fold fine; on heavy card, fold the flap slightly inside the guide.
What paper is best for brochures?
For home printing, 28-32 lb (105-120 gsm) bright or matte paper folds cleanly and looks professional. Heavier cardstock should be scored along the fold lines before folding to avoid cracking.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Images are drawn with the Canvas API in your browser and the PDF is generated on your device. Only your text and settings are remembered in this browser's local storage.
