About the Romanian keyboard
Romanian adds five letters to the Latin alphabet: ă, â, î, ș and ț. Writing without diacritics is common online but can change meaning (peste = over, pește = fish), so typing them properly matters.
Romanian (Standard): The Romanian Standard layout (SR 13392): ă î â right of P, ș ț right of L, with the correct comma-below ș and ț.
Accent shortcuts: Keep your normal keyboard and add accents with a symbol after the letter: e' → é, n~ → ñ, u" → ü. See the cheat sheet below.

Frequently asked questions
How do I type ș and ț?
On the Romanian Standard layout they are right of L. With Accent shortcuts type s; → ș and t; → ț. Capitals: S; → Ș, T; → Ț.
What is the difference between ș and ş?
Correct Romanian uses ș and ț with a comma below. The cedilla forms ş and ţ come from old encodings and are Turkish-style; this keyboard always types the correct comma-below letters.
When do I use â and when î?
Both sound the same. î is written at the start and end of words (început, a urî), â in the middle (când, România).
How do I type ă?
Right of P on the standard layout, or a( with Accent shortcuts.
Is my text uploaded?
No. The keyboard runs only in your browser.
