The Word file uses real text you can still edit and is ready to insert in front of your paper. If your class follows APA, MLA or Chicago, check whether a separate title page is required and what it must include.

Choosing a template
Classic: everything centered with thin rules around the title; a safe choice for any subject.
Submitted by / to: a formal layout with two columns, the student on the left and the instructor on the right, common for university reports and projects.
Modern: a colored side band, a large left-aligned title and a tidy details grid; good for design, business and lab reports.
Minimal: plain left-aligned text with one accent line, close to APA and Chicago title pages.
Bordered: a double frame around the page for school projects and printed portfolios.
Tips for a clean cover page
Use the exact course code and the instructor's preferred title (Dr., Professor, Ms.) as shown in the syllabus.
Keep the title short enough for two or three lines; move a long explanation into a subtitle.
Write the date the way your school does. US schools usually write October 24, 2026 or 10/24/2026, while many other countries write 24 October 2026.
When you submit online as one file, download the Word version and paste your assignment after it, or merge the cover PDF with your paper's PDF.
Frequently asked questions
What should an assignment cover page include?
Most instructors expect the assignment title, your full name (and student ID if the school uses them), the course code and name, the instructor's name, and the submission date. Many schools also want the institution name and department, and group projects list every member. Always check your course outline, because some instructors ask for extra items such as word count or a declaration.
Is a cover page the same as an APA title page?
Not quite. An APA 7 student title page has the paper title in bold about three or four lines down, then your name, your department and school, the course number and name, the instructor and the due date, all centered and double-spaced, with a page number in the top right corner. Use the Classic or Minimal template for the content, then check spacing and the page number in your word processor.
Does MLA format need a cover page?
Usually no. MLA style puts a four-line heading (your name, instructor, course and date) at the top left of the first page instead of a separate cover page. Use a cover page only if your instructor asks for one.
Can I edit the cover page after downloading?
Yes. The Word (.docx) download contains real, editable text with the same content and similar layout, so you can change wording or fonts in Microsoft Word, Google Docs or LibreOffice. The PDF is best for printing or submitting online as is.
How do I add my school logo?
Press Choose logo image and pick a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG file. It is scaled to fit the template and placed at the top. Use a clear, high-resolution image, and follow your school's rules on using its logo.
Can I make a group project cover page?
Yes. Type each member's name on its own line, and put the student IDs in the same order in the ID box. Change the label to Group members if you prefer, and every name is printed on the page.
Is my information uploaded anywhere?
No. The page is drawn in your browser, and the PDF, Word and PNG files are created on your device. Your entries are saved only in this browser so you can reuse them for the next assignment.
