Typing the order of ceremony and wedding party
Each line of the order becomes one entry. The part of the ceremony comes first in small capitals, and anything after a | sign appears underneath in italics, for example a reader, a song title or the officiant. Lines without a | sign show the part only. In the wedding party, write the role, a colon and the names separated by commas; long lists wrap automatically.

Printing and assembly tips
Print one test sheet on plain paper to check double-sided alignment, then print the rest on your chosen stock.
Folded programs: fold with a bone folder along the small marks at the top and bottom center of the sheet.
Fan programs: trim on the crop marks, then glue a wooden fan handle or a jumbo craft stick to the back with double-sided tape or craft glue.
Proofread names of every reader and attendant; ask families how they prefer names to appear.
Frequently asked questions
What goes in a wedding ceremony program?
A typical program has the couple's names, date and venue on the cover; the order of ceremony (processional, welcome, readings, vows, rings, pronouncement, recessional) with the names of readers and musicians; the wedding party and parents; and a closing thank-you. Many couples add a memorial line for loved ones who have passed and details about the reception.
What size is a wedding program?
Common sizes are a Letter sheet folded in half to 5.5 × 8.5 in, a 5 × 7 in card (often glued to a stick as a fan for outdoor ceremonies) and a 4 × 9 in tea-length card. This tool supports all three. Two 5 × 7 or 4 × 9 programs fit on one Letter sheet, so you print half as many sheets.
How do I print a folded program double-sided?
Download the PDF and print it on Letter paper or card stock with two-sided printing set to flip on the short edge, at 100% or Actual size. Page 1 is the outside (back panel on the left, cover on the right) and page 2 the inside. Fold the sheet in half along the center marks so the cover is on the front.
How many wedding programs do I need?
Plan on about one program per couple or household plus 10% extra, rather than one per guest. For an outdoor summer ceremony where fan programs double as fans, many couples print one per guest.
What is the usual order of a wedding ceremony?
A common Western order is: prelude music, seating of grandparents and parents, processional, welcome and opening words, readings, the address or homily, exchange of vows, exchange of rings, any unity ritual, pronouncement and first kiss, and the recessional. Religious and cultural ceremonies vary, so every line in this tool can be edited, added or removed.
What paper should I use for programs?
Text-weight paper of about 80–100 lb text (120–150 gsm) folds cleanly for folded programs. Fan and flat programs feel better on cover stock of 80–110 lb (216–300 gsm). Score heavy card stock before folding to avoid cracking.
Is my information private?
Yes. Names and ceremony details are only used to draw the program in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, and your last design is remembered only on this device.
