How to use the Welcome Sign Maker
Choose an event template; sample wording fills in for you.
Edit the wording: top line, names or main text, second line, date and bottom line. Leave a line empty to hide it.
Pick a design from the thumbnails and, if you like, change the accent color.
Choose the poster size and orientation. 18 × 24 in and 24 × 36 in are the most common for easels.
Download the PNG or PDF for a print shop, or the tiled PDF to print on Letter paper at home and assemble.
Welcome sign sizes and print resolution
Large signs are viewed from a distance, so they don't need the 300 dpi used for photos. The table shows the exported pixel size for each poster size with the Best setting.

Display tips
Mount it. Paper posters curl on an easel; foam board (3/16 in / 5 mm) or a rigid backing keeps the sign flat. Many print shops can mount it for you.
Place it where guests pause, at the entrance or the start of the aisle, at about eye level, and away from direct sun to avoid glare.
Match your stationery. Use the same names and date style as your invitations and programs for a coordinated look.
Proof at small size. Print the PDF scaled down on Letter paper to check spelling and dates before ordering a large print.
Frequently asked questions
What size should a wedding welcome sign be?
The most popular sizes are 18 × 24 in and 24 × 36 in, displayed on an easel near the entrance. 24 × 36 in is easy to read from across a lawn or lobby; 18 × 24 in suits smaller venues and tabletops with a large stand. 16 × 20 in and 11 × 14 in work well framed on a table.
What resolution do I need to print a poster?
300 dpi is ideal for prints viewed up close, but large signs are read from several feet away, so 150–200 dpi looks sharp. This tool exports up to 300 dpi and keeps very large posters to about 36 megapixels (about 200 dpi at 24 × 36 in) so the file stays manageable in a browser.
Where can I print a large welcome sign?
Office supply stores, copy shops and online print services can print the PNG or PDF as an engineering print, poster or mounted on foam board. Engineering prints are the cheapest but black-and-white or low-saturation; choose a photo or poster print for color designs. Ask for the exact size so nothing is cropped.
Can I print a big sign at home?
Yes. Use Download tiled PDF: the sign is split into Letter pages with trim marks, each printed at 100%. Trim the margins along the marks, line up the pieces and tape them together from the back, then mount the sign on foam board or cardboard.
What should a welcome sign say?
Keep it short: a greeting (“Welcome to the wedding of”), the names, the date and optionally the venue, a hashtag or a note such as “Please find your seat”. Shower and party signs often name the guest of honor and a fun second line. Every template here can be edited freely.
Will the colors match my printed sign exactly?
Screens show colors in RGB and printers use ink, so dark backgrounds such as the chalkboard and wood designs usually print slightly darker. Ask the printer for a small proof or print a Letter-size test first.
Is it free and private?
Yes. The sign is drawn in your browser, there is no sign-up or watermark, and names and dates are never uploaded.
