Type a name or a short message and watch it shimmer: choose gold, silver, rose gold, pink, rainbow or your own glitter colors, a fun font and twinkling star sparkles. Download a looping animated GIF with a transparent or colored background, or a PNG still.

GIF transparency has no soft edges, so edges are blended with this color. Pick the color of the page the GIF will sit on.

How to use the Glitter Text Generator
Type your text: a name, a greeting or a short word works best. Press Enter for up to three lines.
Pick a glitter color such as Gold, Pink or Rainbow, or choose Custom and set your own main and shine colors.
Choose the font and size, then tune the star sparkles, glitter grain, twinkle speed and outline.
Set the GIF background: Transparent (choose the color of the page it will be shown on for smooth edges) or a solid color.
Press Create GIF, check the animation and press Download GIF. Download PNG still saves a single transparent frame.
How the glitter animation is made
Real glitter sparkles because millions of tiny flat flakes reflect light at slightly different angles. The generator imitates this in three layers:
Glitter grains. The letters are divided into small square cells (the grain size). Each cell gets a random base brightness and its own twinkle phase. In every frame the brightness follows a sine wave, so some grains flash brightly while others dim, and the brightest ones turn almost white like a reflection.
Color ramp. Brightness is mapped onto the preset's dark, main, light and shine colors, plus gentle top-to-bottom shading so the letters look rounded. Rainbow glitter changes hue across the word instead.
Star sparkles. Four-point stars appear on solid parts of the letters, grow, shine and fade on their own timing. Because every wave completes a whole number of cycles in 12 frames, the GIF loops without a visible jump.

Tips for the best glitter GIF
Short words in bold, chunky fonts (Luckiest Guy, Bungee, Fredoka) show the most glitter per letter.
Keep the outline on when the GIF will sit on a busy or similar-colored background.
A grain of 2 to 3 px looks fine and sparkly; 5 to 7 px gives a bold, chunky sequin look and smaller files.
For a transparent GIF on a dark page, set the edge blend color to that dark color before creating the GIF.
Frequently asked questions
How do I make glitter text?
Type your text, choose a glitter color and font, and press Create GIF. The tool fills the letters with thousands of tiny glitter grains that change brightness frame by frame, adds twinkling star sparkles, and saves everything as a looping animated GIF.
Can the glitter GIF have a transparent background?
Yes. Choose Transparent as the GIF background. GIF only supports fully transparent or fully visible pixels, so the soft edges of the letters are blended with the Edge blend color: set it to the background color of the page, profile or document where you will use the GIF to avoid a light or dark fringe.
Why does my GIF look a little different from the preview?
GIF files can store at most 256 colors per image, so the colors are reduced with a median-cut palette. Glitter hides this well, but very smooth gradients may look slightly grainier. The PNG still keeps full color and soft transparent edges.
Where can I use glitter text GIFs?
Use them in messages and chats that accept GIFs, in emails, on personal web pages, blogs, forum signatures, digital scrapbooks, slides and party invitations. Some social networks convert GIFs to video or show only the first frame.
How big is the GIF file?
Size depends on the text length, font size and glitter grain. A single word at 120 px is usually a few hundred KB. To make the file smaller, lower the font size, use a larger glitter grain or fewer star sparkles.
Is it free and private?
Yes. The animation is drawn and encoded on your device with the canvas API and a built-in GIF encoder, with no sign-up and no watermark. Only the web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
